I have drinking a little JD, so I apologise if this game is ****, but at the moment it seems mildly intresting.
:spin2:

Anyway I will quote a song, and whoever gets it right will do the same, if after a while it becomes obvious no-one will get it I will do another. You need to name the song title and who it was who performed it!

Remember kids drinking is not good for you. It is better to smoke a joint. (how offensive)

My song is

A heart that's full up like a landfill,
a job that slowly kills you,
bruises that won't heal.
You look so tired-unhappy,
bring down the government,
they don't, they don't speak for us.
I'll take a quiet life,
a handshake of carbon monoxide,

with no alarms and no surprises,
no alarms and no surprises,
no alarms and no surprises,
Silent silence.

This is my final fit,
my final bellyache,

with no alarms and no surprises,
no alarms and no surprises,
no alarms and no surprises please.

Such a pretty house
and such a pretty garden.

No alarms and no surprises,
no alarms and no surprises,
no alarms and no surprises please.

This song makes me

:bawling: :wavey:

Ok this one is slightly different, here are some lyrics from a TV show opener - which TV show is it from?

"I left my soul there,
Down by the sea
I lost control here
Living free........

I left my soul there,
Down by the sea
I lost control here
Living free......"

It should be kind of obvious if you try singing it :hello:

Good Luck!

Okay this one is quite hard, so here is an early clue
The video is the one with coal miners (from the past enter now)in it, and they end up dancing? Brilliant video

Watch the steps
Get a drink, have a good time now
Welcome to paradise, paradise, paradise...

Since I left you
I found the world so new

Since I left you
I found the world so new

I found the world so new

Since I left you
I found the world so new
Everyday

Since I left you
I found the world so new
Everyday

Since I left you
I found the world so new
Everyday

Since I left you
I found the world so new
Everyday
Everyday

Since I left you
I found the world so new
Everyday

Since I left you
I found the world so new
Everyday

I found the world so
I found the world so new

I found the world so
I found the world so new

They are from Australia, and the other best single they had was called Frontier Psychiatrist? They have only released one album.

They are called T.e ..a...nc..s

Does that help?

Sorry Bonzo, I can only think of Men At Work, but that doesn't fit :bawling:

(I get the feeling I'm too old for this game!)

Ok then here is another.
This is EASY

It’s oh so quiet
Shhhh, Shhhh
It's, oh, so quiet
It's, oh, so still
You're all alone
And so peaceful until...

You fall in love
Zing boom
The sky up above
Zing boom
Is caving in
Wow bam
You've never been so nuts about a guy
You wanna laugh you wanna cry
You cross your heart and hope to die
'Til it's over and then

Shhh, Shhh
It's nice and quiet
Shhh, Shhh
But soon again
Shhh, Shhh
Starts another big riot

You blow a fuse, zing boom
The devil cuts loose, zing boom
So what's the use, wow bam
Of falling in love

It's, oh, so quiet
It's, oh, so still
You're all alone
And so peaceful until...

You ring the bell, bim bam
You shout and you yell, hi ho ho
You broke the spell
Gee, this is swell you almost have a fit
This guy is "gorge" and I got hit
There's no mistake this is it

'Til it's over and then
It's nice and quiet
Shhh, Shhh
But soon again
Shhh, Shhh
Starts another big riot

You blow a fuse
Zing boom
The devil cuts loose
Zing boom
What's the use
Wow bam
Of falling in love

The sky caves in
The devil cuts loose
You blow blow blow blow blow your fuse
When you've fallen in love
Ssshhhhhh...

Bjork - 'It's Oh So Quiet'. :dazzler:

But what was the previous one, Bonzo? :conf:

bonzobravo

The previous one was The Avalanches - Since I left you

Well done Kaz

Your go now

Kaz

Thanks, Bonzo. Sorry, never heard of the Avalanches - I must fall into the same category as Janette, but even older!)

Anyway ............... this one is an absolute classic:

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night

There she stood in the doorway;
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself,
'This could be Heaven or this could be Hell'
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them say...

Can't give you any more, or you'll know the answer straight away! :colour: :dazzler: :colour:

DLS must still be thinking up some lyrics for us, so here's another one to keep you going in the meantime .......

........ small clue - it's a classic song, which also has a Pop Idol connection

I can't light no more of your darkness
All my pictures seem to fade to black and white
I'm growing tired and time stands still before me
Frozen here on the ladder of my life

Too late to save myself from falling
I took a chance and changed your way of life
But you misread my meaning when I met you
Closed the door and left me blinded by the light

Yup! By Elton John and revived by Will and Gareth! :dazzler:

Can you think of one Janette?

Janette
04-09-2002, 10:57 PM
Yes I can and it's a real stinker!!!!!!!!

Oh it's the crooked leg, the crooked mile
The hotel lift and the menacing smile
The energy of an itinerant child
To catch a glimpse of Mr Oscar Wilde

Water born Southend on Sea
Twisted bend, this ability
Lord Upminster Bo Diddley and Richard the third
With the most unroyal mouth you ever heard

He's never gonna do it, oh he has an' all
they're smiling politely, but they're really appalled
.................

I know it's hard, but any blues fan should get it right!
