And I THINK thats without plus 1 (got the figures from wikipedia and added last nights 1.5 onto that aswell).

How does that compare to last year?

Jake.

Last year averaged 1.7 as a whole, and the first 6 days officially (which means with +1's and on demand etc) averaged 1.85. The six days for BB13 so far are only over nights, so its doing pretty well!

Thanks, JH. I do think Channel 5 need to promote it a bit more. I didn't even realise it was starting till about two days before it did start. I know I could have found out online, but they need to wave it in people's faces, really. Still... off to a decent start.

Yeah I agree, its a shame because this is already one of my favourite series in years, and it deserves the high figures.

Think plus1 numbers should be taken into consideration this year. I have tended to watch most shows on plus1 and that will be more and more the case as Euro 2012 continues and the Olympics start. There must be loads of people who will do that when the highlights show starts at 9pm like it did last night...

I'd really love to see an alternative to big brother. One based on the human experiment ideals of the first series.

Young kids getting pissed up and arguing will get boring very quickly. They need to stop this nominations chat, too. I don't want an American BB over here.

Hey JHC... nice to see you.

I agree about the young kids getting pissed and arguing... it's okay now but it will get boring. There are too many of the same characters in there right now. Chucking in a couple of thirty somethings and one ridiculous and untypical 41 year old doesn't make a good mix.

Yeah whenever I read new articles theres at least two comments saying "when did this start"

As always with you, Liv, the pleasure is all mine.

Completely agree about Victoria. She was basically the token old person, that brings none of the qualities of someone more mature would normally add. Why stick her in there on her own, too.

Was just done to shut people up who questioned the last series. They can turn round and say "see, we put someone older in and the public voted them out first chance they got".

If she is 41 as she claims, though I seriously doubt it, she would not have been much older than Benedict? I have a wide age range of friends, should a 10 year gap make such a lot of difference, she wasn't claiming to be 90! but she certainly acted it, having said that she bonded with Lydia who is 15 years plus her junior, given time I think Victoria would have been a good HM, she was wrong footed from the start, and in her own head she was the one that was going, though she did try some rather cringe worthy tactics to stay....might have worked on a younger body ...

Euro 2012 is probably part of the reason the ratings are down i watched the Ireland vs Croatia game last night and Sky Plus'd BB i expect the ratings to pick up around week 3 or 4 after the Euro's the Olympics wont affect the ratings as much as most of it is during the day .

She may have been an OK HM, but she was never the person to offer maturity in situations. She was basically a 41yr old woman fighting to still be 25.

What we need are a couple of +40yr olds, comfortable in their own skin, to provide a challenge to the youngsters. I never used to see the need for older HM's, but absence of them shows how much they contribute in the background.

I got into trouble for doing that when I was younger.

Good point, we seem to get alot of older HMs in CBB...and to be honest I don't think the converation is any more high brow, ....

Both BB12 and BB13 are amazing, the fact barely anyone is talking about Big Brother or watching it - really sickens me.

No, no it isn't. I think it's time we stop being in denial.

Same! And whenever you mention it in school to someone, there's always some tit that literally says;

'Is Big Brother on still? da last time I watched that was when Josie won. I luved her haha that was the best series I think'

I literally want to cut them.

We need something big to kick off to grab viewers.

Remember with Denise like 2.7 million were watching pants gate then coz of the buzz all over twitter people tuned into +1 and bumped the ratings up to 3.1 million!

This group of housemates especially Chris have major potential to cause actual controvercy.

I know its bad but a little physical violence should make it front page and get it on all the major news channels again. I dont condone violence but if another fight night is what we need to kick these clueless people who are missing out on an epic series up the arse then so be it.

That deserves a thread all of its own... although I'm not sure in which section we'd put it.
