Lance Armstrong faces new charges from USADA; banned from triathlons

Former cyclist Lance Armstrong faces new doping allegations from USADA.

Former cyclist Lance Armstrong’s seven Tour de France victories are in jeopardy after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency sent him and a number of riders a letter bringing formal doping charges, reports the Washington Post.

Armstrong is also banned from competing in triathlons because of the formal charges.

The letter obtained by the Post says in part that Armstrong’s blood is “fully consistent with blood ma*nipu*la*tion including EPO use and/or blood transfusions.”

Armstrong has never tested positive for any blood doping. The letter, dated June 12, also accuses five former cycling team associates of a doping conspiracy from 1998-2011 and that more than 10 cyclists are witnesses.

Earlier this year, the U.S. Attorney’s Office ended their investigation into Armstrong, which ended a two-year probe into doping allegations.

Armstrong’s former teammates Floyd Landis and Tyler Hamilton cooperated with federal agents and accused Armstrong of doping.

Armstrong’s attorney, Robert D. Luskin, called USADA’s allegations a product of “malice and spite”.

Armstrong responded to the charges on his website, saying the “USADA’s malice, its methods, its star-chamber practices, and its decision to punish first and adjudicate later all are at odds with our ideals of fairness and fair play.”

The first time this happened. I was thinking it was just accusations by the french cycling association since he won so many in a row.

Now it's the USADA so it might be legit this time around

at least there's some sports news other than the media favourite football for a day at least,
if you've been watching sky sports news today, you'll have seen just how pointless the football stories are, one today about a celtic player who left his passport at home, but someone went at got it for him, and he made the flight on time. football fans want to watch football, they dont care about pointless stories like that.

but back to lance armstrong, he's not the only one, he just takes all the media critisism because he was successful, there's many sportsmen who also take enhancing drugs but because they're not successful they're not in the spotlight, he's not alone.

BREAKING: AP Source: Lance Armstrong confesses to Oprah Winfrey that he used performance-enhancing drugs.

Catch up lance

Really hope his and that other blokes books flop badly. But they won't :( They'll make more money from that then most riders do on the tour. Hopefully all donated to charity

I don't really give a **** to be honest... anyone that can win races after overcoming cancer is worth my respect. It's not as if he was a ball of jelly until drugs appeared. (obviously I don't think he should still have his titles, because they were won unfairly, I just don't think he's a total prick like everyone else seems to)

He did alot more than that though, my brother is reading 7 Deadly Sins atm, I need to read it after him, apparently he was a bully and intimidated alot of potential witnesses to his doping over the years, including saying in court under Oath that an Irish physiotherapist who was giving evidence against him, was a prostitute and an alcoholic, he could have ruined her career and probably did damage her reputation. I believe he apologized to her during his interview
