I like the idea of them being able to ask a question to the public and they get a yes or no answer but none of the other housemates know what each other asked. cool idea.

I really liked it. I thought it would be crap based on the live streams i watched last week, but it turned out to be completely different. Hoping Alex stays, he's out of his mind. I really thought the cop was gonna knock him out. once a week is just not enough though, they should have at least done 3 days a week like BB.

Dunno if i'll get into this.
The cast seems really coached on what to say. They've been talking about parts of the game explaining it to the views instead of a 'big brother' like figure or commenter explaining how the different parts of the game works. Feels really scripted out to me.
The 'Big Brother' like voice that addresses the house is awful. At one point it sounded like the voice was trying to be robot sounding. Was weird.
That Alex guy trying to be some evil villian is just stupid. Feels like ABC did that on purpose to get some drama right away and keep it on the air.
The house looks like **** IMO.

I think it's more the camera angles. Something just sets me off when it comes to the house. It doesn't feel like they have any big open areas maybe.
Alex is hardly brilliant though. He's just being a jackass to them, and very forcefully. His comments aren't witty or funny. He's just bullying cause he thinks he'll become something big. It's sad.

I watched the first episode last night and it was absolutely god-awful. It's like a Big Brother clone gone terribly wrong. It does feel like they're all coached to the point where it feels like it's scripted. I was under the impression this was going to be live but they started off the showing previews of days to come. It just really hurt to watch. In any event, I can almost guarantee you this will not last more than a few episodes at best.

http://www.examiner.com/article/the-glass-house-odd-twist-contestants-get-to-leave-on-weekends
"The Glass House" premiered tonight on ABC after "The Bachelorette." On this show, the contestants all live in the house together similar to "Big Brother." They did not mention at all the fact that they get to leave the house though. What do you think of this odd twist?
On Monday night, Dingo Hamsterwatch posted about it on Facebook. He is best known for keeping fans up to date on "Big Brother" during the season. Here is what he had to say: "so @glasshouseabc didn't acknowledge that they leave on weekends? hotel sequester I believe, per @realityblurred and EW, reliable sources #glasshouse." Does it shock you that they get to leave on the weekends?
EW also posted today about "The Glass House." In their article, they talk about how one difference in this show and "Big Brother" is the fact that they leave on the weekends. It says that they leave the house for 52 hours a week.

Introducing an exciting and interactive real-time reality competition where the viewers are in charge!
The Glass House features fourteen contestants living and competing for a quarter million dollars in a totally wired, state-of-the-art house. But the contestants aren’t just playing the game with each other – they’re also playing the game to win over the audience each week.
Through online and their social networks, viewers will be encouraged to support and follow the contestants they like and those they don’t. Viewer votes will help determine which contestants are sent home and also which eliminated players will earn the chance to return to “The Glass House” to compete each week.
Viewer feedback doesn’t end there! Several times a week, viewers can watch a live online feed of the players and vote to decide everything from what they wear and eat, to the games they play, even where they sleep. Viewers will also have the chance to give their favorite players feedback on their game from outside the house. How the contestants use that information is up to them, because in the end it’s about who plays the best social game and the most important alliance a player can have is with their fans!
I've seen two other discussion threads, but I think this is the best section to discuss this new show.

I switched the channel after the first 15 mins. I didn't like the contestants, the house looked too much like a hotel and they don't have an outdoor area. I didn't really like the fact that the public voted on everything that robot kept interrupting everything with those chimes and a stupid set of questions. Plus I didn't really like that everybody wanted to play a "strategic" when the public is voting on who stays and goes. It felt like they were expecting a big brother audience, which I guess is what ABC was looking for.

The production and house is really high-budget and amazing, but the cast is very generic and lackluster besides Alex.
Just watched it and I must admit I kinda enjoyed it - and that's because it is essentially Big Brother. When it came to the challenge it felt like I was actually watching Big Brother. The only difference is that the housemates are voting to nominate and viewers are voting to evict.
Thought the whole swiping the air to select who they wanted out was stupid - and they've already ran out of moves for smashing the photos.
Credit where credit's due though, I thought it was a good idea to give the housemates the chance to ask viewers questions. Would be interesting to see them try that on BB, even if it was just for one week.
All in all I hope CBS win their lawsuit.

Overall I'm quite positive about it.
Good points that I kind of expected:
Variety of HMs compared to what CH5 do, more intelligent.
Better music and use of music than CH5.
Better main task which looks better and is more challenging than what British BB would do now.
Bad points:
Editing a bit too hectic.
Repeating what happened before an ad break after it.

No one talks about it and it'll probably get cancelled. It was boring and looked...cheap? Camera quality I guess. Also, Alex isn't a villain. He's just mean. Good villains are more sly and manipulative.

Amazing
Copypasted for those outside the US so they don't have to use proxies - this is an actual (fake) press release issued by CBS:
CBS ANNOUNCES DEVELOPMENT OF “DANCING ON THE STARS,” AN EXCITING AND COMPLETELY ORIGINAL REALITY PROGRAM THAT OWES ITS CONCEPT AND EXECUTION TO NOBODY AT ALL
Los Angeles, June 20, 2012 – Subsequent to recent developments in the creative and legal community, CBS Television today felt it was appropriate to reveal the upcoming launch of an exciting, groundbreaking and completely original new reality program for the CBS Television Network.
The dazzling new show, DANCING ON THE STARS, will be broadcast live from the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and will feature moderately famous and sort of well-known people you almost recognize competing for big prizes by dancing on the graves of some of Hollywood’s most iconic and well-beloved stars of stage and screen.
The cemetery, the first in Hollywood, was founded in 1899 and now houses the remains of Andrew “Fatty” Arbuckle, producer Cecil B. DeMille, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., Paul Muni, Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel, George Harrison of the Beatles and Dee Dee Ramone of the Ramones, among many other great stars of stage, screen and the music business. The company noted that permission to broadcast from the location is pending, and that if efforts in that regard are unsuccessful, approaches will be made to Westwood Village Memorial Park, where equally scintillating luminaries are interred.
“This very creative enterprise will bring a new sense of energy and fun that’s totally unlike anything anywhere else, honest,” said a CBS spokesperson, who also revealed that the Company has been working with a secret team for several months on the creation of the series, which was completely developed by the people at CBS independent of any other programming on the air. “Given the current creative and legal environment in the reality programming business, we’re sure nobody will have any problem with this title or our upcoming half-hour comedy for primetime, POSTMODERN FAMILY.”
“After all,” the spokesperson added, “people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.”

Live streaming was great i hope C4 do pick this up and it picks up a more adult viewership than the chavs that follow big brother.
It has more class than the lowly bb fans could ever hope for.

Robin (Losing Captain) and Erica (Voted into limbo by hgs but was in a tie with Andrea so Robin chose her) are in limbo.
Also if you were in limbo last week you are automatically safe from becoming a captain next week.

The once a week thing is bad, but then, Survivor does it.
The house is amazing which is a shame because this show isn't surviving another season.
I also like the cast diversity. It's a nice show really. Started off slow though.

yeah it can't even raise a finger to Big Brother tho
every ep's been under 4 million. It's because it's on too late and people are loyal to big brother. (Compared to BBUSA's 7 to 8 million an episode which it's been up on average every year since BB10, it shows 3 times a week on Sunday, Wed, and Thursday which is our eviction show)

I hate Kevin and Mike. Appearantly there was an hour long audio leak on the feed on the website. They hated the viewers (Kevin and Mike) decisions so far or something and now it's making it's rounds on YT.
I expect The Glass House to lose viewers the minute Big Brother starts which is next week too. Unless they have a huge scandal inside the house. There won't be another season

The producers want Kevin gone and they're giving him a bad edit tonight, hopefully he does. Could save this show
Also they've added feeds at 3-4 PM EST and 9 PM to 12 AM EST on Tuesday and Wednesday.

is this any good?Yes its pretty good i only watch on a monday night as there is only one highlight show per week which is its biggest stumbling block but it has been really good so far there are a few dim bb fans that bitch about it just because it is competition but it really has been great so far i thought it would be rubbish but i am pretty hooked so far and i really didnt think that would be the case i can see why the bbusa workers left the sinking ship the glass house is way better.
BBfanUSA
10-07-2012, 12:05 PM
Sinking Ship? BBUSA has actually been gaining viewers since BB10.
The other big 4 stations want Big Brother from CBS. ABC was just trying to flush it out and it's not working.

ABC are really stupid if they put the Glass House up against BB directly. ABC would be smart to make sure they are never on at the same time and build a fan base.

It was announced that the winner will be announced live in front of a audience.
I don't think TGH will have another season. Unless They move it to an eariler time and tweak it heavily TGHOracle was asking for "RT if you want a Season 2." Meaning it's not going to have another season.
The contestants that are left
Erica
Andrea
Jeffery
Gene
Mike (Was evicted, but was voted back in when Stephanie accepted money to leave TGH, 37,000)
Kevin
Erica and Gene are in Limbo but it looks like Erica beat Gene.

I've literally just watched all ten episodes of this in the last 24 hours after deciding to watch the first one randomly while I was bored last night.
I liked it overall but much like BBUK the public ruined a lot of the show. The house was nice and I liked the whole wall thing and the throwing stones idea (people in glass houses don't throw stones lul) was quite a clever one. I really loved the Limbo Lift as well, we should get something similar to that for BBUK. And the challenges were pretty high-budget and amazing so kudos to the production team there.
Who the ****** was voting for Andrea to stay? Christ she was vile...and I feel as if her views were vindicated by the fact she kept staying and then beat Jeffrey (who was my favourite in the end) to the final three. Erica should've won from that point, Kevin was pretty dull on the whole.
Alex should have never left though  he was the best person in there and he only lasted a week
I quite like the idea that's been floating around for a while now though of Channel 4 picking this up, I think it'd work well. Two shows a week (Sunday and Wednesday) might work better and the live feed would have to be 24/7 on the red button and/or online (with a chat feature and all the viewer voting stuff incorporated). I could see a big social media presence working with it if it were promoted correctly, I reckon they should give it a shot.
But yeah, decent show on the whole but as always with morons voting it spoils the eventual results.
