The Republic of Ireland did go further than England,they had to travel from Ireland rather than from London,so Legend Killer was right and can stay,thank goodness.

But we have failed to include Einstein's E=mc2 theroy into the question

England=Ranked 4th(when seeding were done etc) squared = 16 so they have to get further then thier rank(Ie:Past quarter finals) to outperform Ireland who by getting to the euro's outperformed thier ranking were ranked 50 something during qualifiying
