View Full Version : Lauren What I don't get is...

She cannot stand the fact that some do not like her in there and obviously there is a clique but she has had nomination chats like all the other housemates about people who they would put in the firing line.

Her victim routine is not washing with me and I don't even like Caroline and co's clique.

I am hating this victim thing.

It's funny though, because it was all girls (and gay Scott) who nominated her

Why is this girl so desperate for Sara and Ashleigh to like her? They obviously don't and choose not to hang around with her but Lauren cannot let it drop, she should get over it and focus on those who she gets on with e.g. Adam, Luke A etc.

100% agree. She does the same as the other girls but because she plays this victim role people are seeming to side with her.

She is a victim of unfair judgement. The girls decided they wouldnt like her....... maybe because she finds it so easy to talk to the boys or just out of spit.......

I cant see any view siding with Sara/Ashleigh. Lauren just wants to know WHY instead of this fake 'oh I did like you but then sum tings happened' without explaining wtf happened.

Yeah and what annoys me is that Deana has less friends in that house and she doesn't keep crying over the fact that some people do not like her.

I think that some of the behaviour towards Dean e.g. the hiding of her chocolate is much worse than people bitching about Lauren because you will always get bitching in BB but stealing other peoples belongings is spiteful and disrespectful.

Jords

All I can say is hopefully none are you are unfairly judged and question it and perhaps get down. It heightens in the BB house too with limited amount of people to talk to and having to live with these people.

Sigh.

She's very desperate and she doesn't need to be making herself sad by constantly trying to be Sara and Ashleigh's friend because they just don't want any of it, just get over it and accept it Lauren :bored:

At the rish of repeating myself, I said the same thing yesterday in various threads, I think she is playing the victim, yes Im sure she is upset, but why not take the advice given to her by Bennie, Lyds and Deana, to avoid Trampy and Sara. She totally ignored it and yakked on again at length about it to Caroline that she didnt understand what she was doing wrong, and as for saying that nobody talks to her.....hello I dont think that is true, Arron, Luke S, Luke A, Adam, Lydia, Deana, Caroline, the only ones that dont speak to her are Ash and Sara, and yet she didnt nominate Ash.....why...:conf:

Kizzy
20-06-2012, 05:49 PM
Agreed cherie, I put somewhere something along those lines.... Everyone is saying the same thing stop moaning that ash and sara don't like you...
Patience and sympathy is wearing thin for her both in the house and out I think.

Yes, she is playing the victim, because it works. If she survives on Friday, bet your a**e she'll man up (so to speak)

At the risk of offending last year's Arron fans, he played a similar whiny game - I am hoping for something more from Lauren.

Lauren has said it on multiple occasions, she just wants to know why people turned on her, despite the fact that she is trying to be friends with them.

But no one will admit that alot of the dislike coming her way is over the fact that some are jealous of how easily she finds getting along with the lads of the house.

Put it another way, Lauren is more disliked than Adam, who has openly admitted to stealing and taking things from peoples bags. Who has had more than one argument in the house and who has taking to wetting people in their beds.

And then you have to take the person into consideration. Lauren does seem quite needy. She mentioned in her VT that women tend not to like her, its obviously something that has happened her entire life. Perhaps its something that she was hoping to amend in the house.

Its one of those situations that you can't win.

People don't like her for reason #A, this upsets her because she doesn't understand, so she gets upset, which p*sses people off and they call her fake. Then viewers start to complain.

But surely it would be more "fake" if she brushed it off? Catch 22, damned if she does, damned if she doesn't.

kefln, you put forward very logical explanations. BUT. Her friends from university say that it just isn't true that women tend not to like her. Apparently she has plenty of female friends.

I was a tomboy and always got on better with men, although since hitting my 40s I have made a lot more female friends. Being friends with men is provocative to other women, whether you want that response or not. Don't tell me Lauren doesn't know this; I sure did. I just can't buy this "don't understand" thing.

So! I think she is playing. I just don't think she is doing it very successfully yet. I hope she gets better at it :)

I think so too.

I guess in the real world Lauren wouldn't have to tolerate people like that, but she is forced to confront them in there.

So far I think she's handling it way better than I ever did. And I don't see her as playing the victim, she has been baffled by the dislike for her, and has even asked them what she could do different.

And just because you cry, that doesn't mean you're playing some type of victim card either. It must be really tough in there to control your emotions.

It's just a shame that she is up against Ben, as he has been one of her true friends in there.

Of course we are all going to have our own opinions about this, but I might put this idea too you...

If Lauren does suffer from low self esteem, then she mightn't feel all that close to her female friends. In fact she might pay more attention to those that ignore her, than those that don't.

An outsider, or a friend, might not even notice how much such rejections effect her. Maybe in the outside world she can brush this sort of thing off.

But within the glass bowl of the BB house, where everything is magnified, her true weakness is far more apparent.

Just a thought...

Run an experiment...

Line up all the women you know and complete the following tests:

1) Show them a new born baby
2) Kick a puppy
3) Tell them a tale from your childhood
4) Cut up one of their shopping loyalty cards
5) Tell them that they are "the one"
6) Ask them are the really going to wear that tonight...

If you are still alive at the end, look for the one still crying over the puppy - shes the only one that isn't crying crocodile tears! :D

Got to run now...lots of very angry women are looking at me with unblinking eyes!

I feel for Lauren, though. Obviously, she's a sensitive person and is more emotional about things like that. Unfortunately, this does not work in her favor because the same people who dislike you for no reason are the same ones who would exploit your sensitivity and keep mistreating you. They abuse her, comfort her, and do it again - she's just an easy target for those bitchy cows.

She's experienced this many times on the outside and I think it was heartbreaking for her to be in such a small setting and still face these problems. She probably thinks something could be wrong with her if she can't find a way to connect to women while cooped up in a small house. Of course, the BB house is NOT the right place for this.

I hope she learns from this experience and not sweat the fact some people do not/will not like her. That's life. Some people are misunderstood, some are just bitches.

For her sake, she needs to brush this off so she does not ruin her big brother experience. She's a lot smarter and better-looking than the coked-up ferret we call Ashleigh - no use letting that fool ruin your time.

I was in a boys only school so I know how groups of guys behave....but Id be interested to know if groups of women generally do behave like this?

Poor dinkums has a chronic problem with needing to be liked by everybody. Such a shame on such a bubbly girl.

Also: best looking girl still in there imho. My original 'Snog Marry Avoid' would have been Victoria, Lauren, Lydia

Absolutely, and we are so much worse.

I went to boarding school and we used to have these things call 'bitch sessions'. What happens is a few girls pick out someone who's awkward, weird, weak - something. You call her into a room with about 5-8 people and tell her everything you don't like about her - you complain about the way she eats, dresses, bring up irrelevant things she did, etc. You break her down, make her cry, console her, tell her she's your friend and get her into the group. Just a small group of silly girls and the friendship was not that exclusive within the group.

The funniest part was when these girls made the mistake of targeting me - 1 vs 7 - I walked out there laughing, and some were crying.

I know this sounds crazy, but we were still friends after this. We were like 14/15 at the time, and it was just girls being bitchy girls. They weed out the weak and exploit them.

Most grow out of it, others end up like the girls you see there.

Why can't people just be upset that a group of people in the house dislike them for no real reason? I'd probably be upset if i was in there and all the guy dislike me for no good reason. I'd be wondering what I did and trying to fit in cause it'd be pretty damn lonely not being able to have fun like everyone else.

I can understand that, but its worth having a think about the word "victim"...

Imagine being trapped in a very small house, with no contact with the outside world. Living there with a dozen strangers and having no communication with the people that ground you in life, friends or family.

Now imagine that you've done your best to get along with everyone. You haven't gotten involved in any arguments, you have been a team player. But half the house are out to get you. And you have no idea why.

Whats worse is that you are aware the world is watching. So whatever you did to upset these people has been seen by everyone you know and millions you don't.

Yet your HM's are fairly nice to you on a face to face basis. None have complained or pointed out any issues. You are trapped in a bubble of people being nice, who seem to hate you.

Just a thought...

kefln, you are a very intelligent and insightful poster. It's a pleasure to see you on these boards. The word "victim" is sadly over-used too frequently today, especially in the context of reality shows...but I think your summary above really shows a progression into paranoia. Great post.
