In the context that Deana said it in it was ridiculous of Lydia to take offence at it - but I don't think she was genuinely offended. Lydia is a clever girl and i think that she knows deana isn't liked and doesn't want to be associated with deana by the other housemates. This (as petty as it was) gave Lydia the chance to put up a barrier between her and deana and distance herself a little bit in front of every other housemate sat at the table. She is very clever I think!

They should have wore costumes, seeing as it was a period drama.

Pretty much.

Not exactly what you want to be hearing while eating your dinner.

She definitely overreacted though. And Deana did in response.

Or what is the real reason she keeps nominating her.:conf:

So true. She was just looking for a reason to distance herself from Deana and struck out on her first chance. Completely taken out of context and overblown. A quick word would have been enough, but she had to ruin dinner for everyone else.

Self-centered twit.

I would imagine i speak for a lot of men when i say i dont want to speak/hear about periods at any time, let alone when im eating.... Unless the conversation is I got my period, im not pregnant.

I have relatives who only bring up the more horrible details of their health when at dinner. Graphic surgical procedures, talk of bodily functions, a sinister weeping bump on the skin, et al. We calmly hold onto good thoughts and try not to retch.

Lydia overreacted, I thought, mostly because it was a joke about Adam's current mood, not the actual physical process. lol

But no one was discussing periods, that the point. It was word not a discussion. If adam had said 'period' instead of 'full stop' as americans do would lydia have reacted the same way??

My point exactly. I get grossed out easily and don't want to hear anyone speak of period, bodily functions, anything gross/dirty, or even someone who smacks (Lydia does this A LOT) or slurps when they eat.

However, it was in reference to Adam's mood and it was not as if she went on and on about it. Lydia being the self-centered bitch that she is got carried away and ruined that 'beautiful' dinner her many personalities worked so hard to create.

I don't know the answer to this question but all I will say is it really doesn't take very much at all for Lydia to get angry about something, I thought she was ridiculous.

Everything can be over-reacted to in the house because of the situation. The smallest things can become massive. It's a natural characteristic of Big Brother.

Some people just see it as bad manners at the table although it could be Lydia kicking off to get attention now she is not bale to pull the strings of the other house mates so easily and have influence over who they nominate for eviction

Periods are a perfectly natural thing, so are hemorrhoids, but I wouldn't really want to discuss either at the dinner table.

I think she just wanted to argue with Deana.

I really doubt if Lydia is bothered by the word "period" being said at the dining table.

I think Lydia generally thinks of herself as a classy woman.

Remember she got angry at Adam for saying something crass? I think it was Adam.

She doesn't like "low brow" talk i guess.

Because Lydia has her head firmly shoved up her own ass.

Its not what was said it was who said it, if it had been someone further up the pecking order lyds would have kept her gob shut!
She was simply trying to change the HM's and public perceptions of deana.

Lydia would get the hump at the furniture if it looks at her funny...

I think its because Lydia is a man in disguise and got jealous when Deana talked about her period because she/he herself/himself cant get them?

but thats just my own personal opinion..

Didn't she just say someone was on their period or something as part of a private conversation, it's a pretty common expression for when someone's just in a bad mood, not like she stood up and gave an indepth and graphic account of her period to everyone

Yeah she said Adam was on his period.
