There's a reason it's called tw@tter by some and I really think that they "twit" there as most of them are "twits" rather than "tweet".

Have you considered that not everyone learns the right lesson from that experience? It's just as likely that these little girl fans are growing up in homes where that type of behavior - the man commands, the woman obeys, and if she talks back, she gets what she "deserves" - is the norm. While we'd like to believe the modern world has moved beyond that, there are still pockets of society all over the place where Conor's attitude is what families condition their daughters to see as a good man.
