Banter just happens between friends. You don't have to think about it, work at it or struggle to define it. What Arron does is not "banter". If Arron always talks to people the way he's spoken to some of the people in the house, eventually he's going to be taken down a peg or two. That's not a threat or even a wish, it's just the way it is.

Banter happens between me and friends/brother when we are taking the piss out of each other when bored.

The fact I get called a queer bastard by people and they are like 'JUST BANTER M8' pisses me off.
