View Full Version : (Poll) If BB do not boot Conor off from the show within 1 week will you switch off ?

I know it doesn't make a lot of difference how many vote which way here.
I just want an indication of ,if BB do not boot out Conor within 1 week, whether you would switch off or not.
I know I will.

I, honestly, like some conflict in the house and some arguing and bitching but some of it recently I don 't find entertaining and whether or not they boot Conor out, I feel inclined to stop watching BB anyway.

I'm sure a lot of viewers feel the same and they are getting turned off by what's been going on and are likely to stop watching BB soon anyway, whether Conor is booted or not, so there could be a lot who do switch off if he doesn't get the boot within a week so the result here may not matter but I just wanted an idea

You may say it wouldn't matter or not that many will av oid watching but I'm pretty sure they will and Channel 5 are not going to like losing all that advertising revenue

I've stopped watching anyway, especially after what one of his friends on DS has PM'd a member on there calling them a ****ing tart etc.

The only way I will switch back onto BB is if they remove him from the house.

No, why on earth would you switch off? Are people really that sensitive to the situation?

I get that what he said was bad, but all this complaining to OfCom etc. and saying they'd stop watching BB is over the top IMO. I just hope that those who do want to stop watching stop coming on here as well :bored:

BB and of course Channel 5 may not respond fairly unless you hit them financially. If companies take too long to respond to something fairly, the best course, and which usually works is to hit them in their pocket.

Their shareholders will hate it if a lot switch off and the advertisers and sponsors will threaten to remove funding.

he only way with people like that is not to keep watching and supporting their business if they don't respond fairly within a reasonable amount of time which I think a week is the only way is to hit them financially and that means boycotting BB and refusing to watch

Marc

I'll only probably stop watching it, if those who I don't like are all that's left in the house. Even then I'd probably still watch it

We need to show Ch5 that they cannot get away with letting someone like this beast stay in the house.

I don't think that they feel they can necessarily get away with anything, I think that they were content, within their own code of practice, that they dealt with the situation in a way to their satisfaction, in that they reprimanded him, and he apologised for his actions (to a certain extent). We may not always agree with these decisions, but we have to try to accept others methods and reasoning even though people have different standards of acceptance.

Of course we don't have to accept their decision, and you have the right to switch off as that's your choice. We just have to understand that not everyone comes to the same conclusion.

Personally I would have kicked his arse out of there, but not everyone would agree.

will not to put it politely
be very pleased with BB and Channel 5.

Oops - accidentally cast a vote of yes. If they do not boot him within a week, I will still watch.

BB knows what happened and punished him at their discretion. If they now choose to boot him, that will be disingenuous and only based on public opinion. He may or may not get punished, but I think booting him out now is silly. He said something regrettable - that does not make him a psycho, rapist, or whatever.

Going back to the argument between Chris and Becky when Becky was brushing her hair... if Chris had made those statements in the same tone, he would have been rightfully kicked out. Chris' comments were made directly to Becky is a very hostile and aggressive manner.

Conor being the idiotic boy made him in Deana's absence in a strange manner.

Conor's comments were more repulsive, but there's a huge difference. The fact is Conor is a coward and would have NEVER made those comments in Deana's presence. This was just an arrogant ass who tried looking like a big boy in front of his friends and also took the bait when Ash tossed it.

He's still in the house, case closed. You don't like it, change the channel.

Chris argued on Becky, or can't people argue on girls in the house? where as Conor in a cowardly way starts rapping about raping her and punching her in the face, and at least Chris said all his stuff to Becky's face unlike Conor who didn't have the guts to do so.

And also I have switched off, and even if I haven't I am allowed to have a problem with the show (especially on this scale) and not be told to if you don't like it then just switch off, i've saw other TV show fanbases do that in the past and people listened.

That's exactly my point. Before I watched the tape, I read the transcript and was shocked and disgusted. Even before watching the clip, I knew his comments were horrid, but I would not go so far as to make a rape accusation. The threatening of physical violence was also very shameful on his part.

Then you watch the tape and my feelings have not changed because he did say those things. What changed is the situation and gravity of his words. Deana was not there and he sang those words just like a childish coward.

If Deana was present and he said to her - in the same way Chris went off on Becky - that he would shove the epilator...., at that very moment BB would have kicked him out and no one would have questioned whether he should have been booted. Not because there was a threat of rape(I still would not call it rape), but for intimidation and aggression.

Another scenario: if Deana was present and he just sang those words - even without the gesture and threats of physical harm, kick him out because that's also intimidation and aggression.

Based on the percentages so far.It looks like if this was repeated across all BB viewers that almost 500,000 would be switching off,
though I think amongst viewers everywhere the percentage (imo) figure will be higher
as at the moment it's only 22.86 % here I thin k who wouldn't watch.

I thin k people are already planning to switch off after BBOTS last night only giving us two twee cover over twitter comments and not saying anything about the protests on their site or across twitter n facebook I know I am.

If it's half a million or higher as I thin k it will be amongst viewers everywhere I'm sure the advertisers and sponsors are going to be very happy to be associated with BB and Channel 5.

Very funny, how people can act like we are overreacting is beyond me, if people heard this in the outside world they would be going beserk about the comments and would be wanting them punished accordingly by The Police, as afterall if racist jokes on Twitter can get you arrested then I could imagine the comments that Conor's made in the BB house about both Benedict and Deana could get him into loads of trouble.

Well i've never heard of it before and clearly other people haven't either otherwise there wouldn't be so many complaints.

It's a common saying. When someone says 'get fcuked', it does not mean they literally want you to get fcuked. It's just a crude saying.

People who watched the exchange ARE in the outside world and a majority believe it was disgusting, but not a threat of rape or violence.

If you call the police because someone says they're going to shove something up your minge or ass and you ask for an arrest, you'll be in for a surprise. It's just excited utterance.

Do the people who keep on going about "sexual violence", rape or whatever really think that everytime someone says "stick _____ up your ass" they literally mean they intend to carry out anal rape?

Agree, If every time a person says stick it up your ass was treated as a threat of rape then we have a problem. It's a complete overreaction, if that's what they are saying then do they think that if someone says i'm going to kick your ass (how many times have we heard drunk people saying that?) they should be treated as threatening to murder someone?

Sad that people think if they say kick ANYone out or i'll stop watching & think they will get their way. They'll still be watching even if they say they wont.
I do think Conor will be up next time then he'll be out anyway.

Switching off simply because you don't like a particular housemate is a bit tragic, really. The opinions of a handful of people who have to switch off before going into a mental breakdown certainly won't change anything. (I'm not trying to insult anyone here, by the way.)

However, at least it's better than constantly posting your negative views and flogging a dead horse in regards to a housemate who clearly isn't worth neither your time and energy and posting in a section of a show you don't even like.

Despite the fact that the whole reason they put Deana in there was to cause a Shilpa Shetty race row, it's just that Ch5 can't handle it now that it's actually happened.:joker:I think you might be the one that cant handle it :joker:
Your just repeating yourself now its very dull.

I can’t help but feel that race has a part to play in the way Deena has been treated
I can’t say I’m surprised as we have seen something similar to this before when Shilpa Shetty

As vile as the treatment of Deana was, I don't buy all this race card bollocks and can't help but feel that people sling that term are sake around for the sake of it. If Conor was a racist, he would have made racist remarks. After all, if he was that vile to Deana - which he was - the racism wouldn't have made that big an impact.

And your not repeating yourself? tbh I think we're all getting annoyed with each other and just repeating the same stuff over and over again, I will be staying away from the BB section from now on as it's annoying me because I can clearly see what BB are doing as from day 1 they wanted Deana to have the race row that's why she got the secret task to nominate 3 Housemates so they would hold it against her for the rest of her time in the house.

I see it now. She was the first one to enter in the gorgeous dress and BB decided no Indian will grace the walls of that house unscathed. She was punished by choosing 3 people to nominate.

Let's see who she chose:
Conor - Because he did not bother to speak to her
Lydia - Because she had the nerve to speak to her and bond with her
Victoria - Because she had evil eyes

Nice way to begin your summer long popularity contest.

You're absolutely right. No one with 15,000 posts can stay away. I bet he'll be back within 24 hours.

I won't stop watching but I have different feelings on the show now, I don't think the show acted correctly at all in the situation - They showed him saying really disgusting and disturbing threats, gave him a slap on the wrist and that was that. I would have liked to have seen BB talk to Deana about it more than yet more of Conor trying pretend he was sorry.

I will switch off if the outsiders all get voted off though, I would not enjoy a house with just the likes of Conor and Ashleigh.
