i missed her ceremony thing because i was babysitting and the kid woke up and started crying

first time it ever happens and it's when I really want to watch something on TV

They are showing her again on bbc1, they might show some of the medal ceremony too.

Well she's now tied with the third fastest HH time in the world so that's not entirely true. With the decathlon I'd understand your point with some of the lower tiered athletes, but even Ashton Eaton can hold his own in LJ. But the heptathlon's much more catered to elite level sprinters/hurdlers/jumpers because there are only two throwing events, an 800 instead of a 1500, etc. You take a world class hurdler and teach her the basics of the other events and she'll manage. But with the decathlon you have a third throwing event and a 1500 as opposed to an 800, so it's really more well-rounded and you truly get "the world's best athlete." I personally think they should switch from a hep to a dec for women if we want to find the true world's best female athlete. Not just an elite sprinter or hurdler or jumper.

Got back from North Greenwich in time to watch the magical hour of athletics with Jessica, Mo and Greg all winning Gold Medals! Fantastic achievement.
