OMG Kaphc your nephew who was born yesterday is called Harvey, cool name by the way, and the Beckhams called there new boy born yesterday Romeo. Is it just me or are all the babies born yesterday being called after members of the "So Solid Crew" ?
That is such a coincidence! Soon someone will come in saying they've got a new baby girl called Lisa Mafia!!! lol

What's wrong with that, Sticks? :conf:

That would make his initials R.O.B.!!!!! :hello:

Romeo and Oscar are both used in the phoenetic alphabet and it is part of the usual Police call signal.

Oscar is a fantastic name. My mate Lee always used to take the piss out of me, cos he reckons I have a resemblence to Oscar Wilde???

Thanx to all who posted congratulations messages!

I was amused by the So Solid Crew reference- mind you there are so many of them that whatever name Dave and Heather picked, it would probably be someone from the Crew! They hadn't had Romeo on their list of names, just as well I guess!

My 21-week scan is on Wednesday this week so I will let you all know how it goes. I didn't want to know the gender before, but now I'm really curious ... I am going to have to resist the temptation to change my mind and find out, as I have been so adamant that I didn't want to know before!

 :hello:

Kaphc your right there are so many members of that crew that any baby could be named after one of there members.
But are you going to call your new baby after a Crew member aswell and keep the fashion going??? lol

I don't know any of the other names of people in So Solid Crew so I don't think I'll be able to keep up the trend.

:spin: :spin:

One of my names on the girls list is Davina though which I thought was suitably BB-ish!

Kaph, belated congrats on the birth of your nephew, Harvey is a great name.

Loved it since I saw this:

Not that I'm suggesting he is a large white rabbit or anything!!

As for Romeo Beckham.........

My advice for him would be not to trust a fat friar on a donkey.
DFS mate, you know it makes sense.

I think the name Jack is good for a boy!

Goint back to David and Victoria - can you imagine it if Romeo turns out to be a 15 year tall, skinny, gangling boy with loads of acne and greasy hair - what will his school mates make of that. You have to be so careful when choosing names. For instance if we had chosen the name I wanted for my son his initials would have been BO. I say no more

I once wrote a program in GW Basic that would:

1) take the names of the mother (maiden name) and the father.

2) Work out how many characters was the longest and the shortest name

3) produce a list of "words" that varied at random between the shortest and the longest of the names of the parents.

4) each word would consist of letters randomly picked from the combined names of the parents.

5) You then go through the list and select any "word" which is pronouncible, not rude and seems ok

6) You use that for the child's name.

Clear ?

Since a child is a random mix of the parents DNA, I thought that the name of the child should come from a random juggle of the characters in the parents names

I could dig it out if anyone wants, but they would also need to have GW Basic, which is quite old now.

The name has actually really grown on me now. At first I thought it was a bit weird but good on them i say for not being traditional. :elephant:

I like having a slightly unusual name, but I'd never call a kid Romeo!

But a lot of celebrities give their kids weird names so they can get away with it more!

I wont give my kids boring names but I wouldnt give them really weird names, especially boys! I think you can get away with unusual names more for girls than boys!
