Last night when I was watching it live, Aisleyne and the group were talking and Michael said something about Aisleyne fancying chavs and she went

"Do I look like a chav, Im not a chav init"

Not only that but she said it with gold earrings, gold necklace, and a trackie on.

Bless her

It was just funny how she followed it with the current chav phrase 'init'

As an ex-goth, some of the funniest, most charismatic people I've met consider themselves to be gothic.

I think a real goth doesnt have to wear black etc
I hate those really fake ones, theres loads at our school

People can choose what they wear BUT everyone has a right to be in the world and thats were Glyn stepped over the line saying they don't. Im sure Glyn hasn't met many and would change his mind if he actually met more than the 2 he has probably met in his entire life.

Chrizzle

Your very right

GlitterEyes

If he would of said the "ones ive met" seem depressing or changed his words it would of been more of a valid opinion rather then slagging off all Goths when he hasn't met all goths.

Thats fair
But he probably didnt think before he spoke

GlitterEyes

Well considering he actually had that on his profile aswell I disgree hes got something like "animals and goths scare him" which would mean he doesn't really like them on what he has seen.

Chrizzle

If he doesnt like them,he doesnt like them
Thats up to him

I dont like spiders, but I havent seen all the spiders in the world

GlitterEyes
05-07-2006, 03:55 PM
So just because you dislike spiders there isn't a place for them in the world? Course not because thats not what you said, but Glyn did say goths dont belong in the world which was out of order.

Yeah I agreed with that
But like I said, he probably wasnt thinking
If someone said 'On your command if you want Ill shoot every goth' he wouldnt let them do it
I reckon it was just in the moment

people are confusing "chav" with being "street".........people have been saying "innit" for a long time before the concept of "chav" was born.

Chav's do not exist in London. This word is used to generalise kids that are not into skating or grunge music but like to hang about on the street.

If you call Aisleyne a chav you are so ignorant its unbelievable. I've noticed the word chav is used in mainly outter-city areas for young white people that like garage/grime/rap music.

Who here has seen Aisleyne in a burberry cap? Now that's a real chav for ya ;)

 innit goes back a lot farther than that. I remember hearing it around '88 when I first came to London. I think some people have been using it since the '60s at least.

Chav is from "Chavvie boy" which is some pikey talk *I think*. People will try tell you its an abbreviation for Council House and Vandals but don't listen to them because you heard it here first baby from the Big Slezer ;).

True, any time someone tells you a word gets its origin from an acronym (like Council House and Vandals, or For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, or any other examples), you can be 99.999% certain it's an urban myth. Almost no word ever emerges that way.

Just for the heck of it, I did a little looking up on "innit" and found a textbook talking about it being used in the '80s and even the '70s.
http://books.google.com/books?vid=ISBN0521806879&id=B__lYElP_14C&pg=PA156&lpg=PA156&dq=innit&sig=ZhmnvRl45qzSISI5Bm9MuQg0JPo

From a couple other things I just looked up, it seems to have originated in Wales back in the '60s, mostly with Asian immigrants.

For what it's worth. :eureka:
