Who do you find to be the selling point for various different acts? I find it interesting to hear people's opinions about who they think the best member in bands/groups is, you always get such wildly different opinions and debates stemming from them.. I was originally gonna make this a poll but there are endless examples of who you could name. It depends what you're interested in musically and what you're listening out for - could be songwriting, instrument playing, vocals... A lot of these acts have been going for years and have had numerous line up changes, so obviously the question extends to any line up.

I'll just list some high profile examples, feel free to answer them or suggest and answer your own... Topic is open to pop acts too, I just felt it was more appropriate to start the OP with some all time greats who I often think have this debate circling them, but this list is by no means complete and is just to start the thread off...

The Beatles
Oasis
Queen
Led Zeppelin
ABBA
Pink Floyd
Bee Gees
Genesis
Guns N' Roses
The Rolling Stones
The Who

The Beatles - I feel bad for Ringo but he was by far the weakest. John and Paul were the two main players and probably had the most fans but my favourite is George. His (admittedly rarer) contributions were some of my favourite songs - Something, Here Comes the Sun, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Within You Without You...

the others you've listed seem to have obvious frontmen (Queen, Oasis, Led, Who, Rolling) but have excellent co-writers in the band and some of the greatest in the fields of their instruments (Keith Moon, John Bonham, Charlie Watts, Jimmy Page).

The only one of those who I think it's fair to say is quite even amongst the group are the Bee Gees. All 3 were pretty equal.
