He chipped this comment in when overhearing a conversation between Lauren and Caroline.
Was this a ploy to reign in a few more female voters coz he knows the boys failed on Friday?

A very disappointing comment, but it was said in tonights highlights show while Arron and Conor were still in the house, so it's not for the reason you gave.

Just because hes a supposed alpha male, doesn't mean he has to fit into the stereotype of guys loving football

Actually thinking back to the task were they were offered things, the one were he could have watched noms, one of the other things was the euro 2012 results and he got a tad excited, even though he refused in the end! Have i made that in my head or did that really happen lol

It depends on the footy match and who's money i'm spending while shopping.
USA playing in the World Cup or spending my own money shopping? - i'll watch footy.
Spending someone else's money shopping or watch Belarus vs. Honduras footy match? - I'll go shopping.
it really depends on the circumstances.

I remember something about that, but I can't remember either if it actually happened or perhaps was just an idea from a forum member

str8 men have always liked to shop, but for some reason they don't think buying appliances and gadgets counts as "shopping"
My dad used to buy so many gadgets and appliances it was ridiculous. steam cleaners, and bread machines, and screw drivers with a million different parts etc etc etc... for some reason str8 men think that buying those types of things doesn't count as shopping, just clothes count as shopping to them lol
They'll spend hours buying new tires, but if a woman spends 20 minutes picking a dress it's "omg hurry up!!!"

I never thought of that, my dad also liked to buy manly things, mostly tools and tires although he liked to dress nice, my mom knew his style and he loved it when she would buy him stuff.

I would be willing to blow the entire weeks shopping budget on watching a Liverpool match, I'm sure Luke would reconsider and do the same if the times comes.

Maybe he just doesn't like football?
I'd rather shop than watch a English game but if it was Celtic playing I'd obviously rather watch that

As someone else mentioned he was ranting on during his time in the task room (when deciding whether or not to watch nominations) about the England game, Luke S is playing to the gallery with this one.

You're obviously into gender stereotypes. Not all men love football, not all women love shopping.
No, I don't think it was a ploy, tbh. I also thought it was quite humorous given Luke S isn't well known for his humour, imo.

No, I'm not into gender stereotypes but assume Luke S is judging by his behaviour around Ashleigh. That's why HIM making that comment would be in HIS mind gaining favours with some voters. Not my perceptions but my perceptions from his point of view.

If I recall correctly LukeS and Conor went into the DR and asked if there was anything they could do to watch the Euro finals. BB said: 'yes, you can get evicted!' It was deffo two of the three muscleteers anyways.

Yes and he has definately spoken about the Euros a few times...so he is not totally disinterested, so to answer the OP question, the answer is yes it was said as a vote winning exercise.
