View Full Version : Could this series have a final with more girls?

Every final so far has either had more blokes in the final or an equal ratio. Pretty rare that so far more guys have been evicted!
Could BB13 be the first?
I see Lauren, Sara, Deana and Becky all having a good shot.
Edit: OH AND ASHLEIGH. Shes never getting nominated.

I think there will be more girls, from the boys I can see Scott and Adam maybe. From the girls I see Sara, Deana, Becky and Ashleigh because she flies under the radar and probably wont be nominated.
Is there time enough to get that many girls out? You need an eviction each for Conor, Caroline, and Shiv (the guaranteed outs who only win against each other), which still leaves Deana, Sara, Becky, Ashleigh, and Lauren. 4 of those 5 should be able to easily win over either Luke.

Well it's 7 to 5 at present women to men but I think it's too early to say yet, let's see what happens this week as to an eviction.

Even more shockingly, could we have a f2 of girls?
we have never ever had that
its either been 2 males or a female and male..

I think its interesting that its probably the only series where the girl HMs have more control in the house.

Because it reflects a trend in the viewing audience. Men perform better on Big Brother than women. In 22 series, there has never been a majority of women in the finale.

BB8 was by far the most girl-centric house imo. they occupied the house from the beginning and they ruled it til the end.
but anyway, i just think it's bad news to keep these kinds of counts. I think this is a great series so far, and i don't think it has anyhting to do with girl/boy gay/str8 or races, i think it's an amazing diverse cast this year and they are all such individuals, i think we're kind of poisoning it by trying to analyze it based on groups or stereotypes. i think it's great that it's a diverse cast, but i think they are diverse because of their personalities, not because of the actual minority status of any of them.
this is a great cast because of the personalities, not because of any obvious stereotypes imo.

I'm loving Deana and Adam right now, but it has nothing to do with her being indian or him being black, they are just awesome, you know?
I think it's unfair to keep count in that way, cause they are all such unique personalities, that bringing minority status into it, it just feels cheap.

race and sexuality is no different than classifying by gender.
I thought we were over that kind of classification by now. this is BB 2012 right??

to me none of them live up to the stereotypes. Adam is nothing like what you'd expect from an African-American former gang member, and Lauren is nothing like what you'd expect from such a beautiful upper-midle class white girl.
They have broken through all stereotypes.
lol, the so-called alpha male Luke S just told us all he'd rather spend time at the shopping mall then at the pub watching a football match...
I think this series really is great because all of them are not the typical type-cast housemates, they are all interesting individuals who don't fit into cookie cutter stereotypes.

Also BB8 if youre counting Samanda as 1 HM like they were, 2 females 4 males in the final :)
I have absolutely no idea what your issue is other than you trying to be quirky by doing the whole I dont curr about labels/categories blah blah just leave the thread if you dont like it.
Also theres always near enough an equal amount of boys/girls put in the BB house, whilst race is obviously dominated by British and sexuality straight. How is gender therefore 'minority'?
It could be a first in BB history to have a final consisiting of more females. Its an OBSERVATION. The girls have such a large influence on the house, especially Caroline, Deana and Shievonne. Lydia did too. The lads.. not so much.

how crazy was it seeing Conner, the suppossed "alpha male" curled up in the corner crying his eyes out. This season's cast is great, because they don't live up to any stereotypes, i'm loving it.

I am looking forward to an all girl finale, that would be huge seeing as this show has historically been male dominated. It will mark a change in the tweeny vote, that IMO has already shown some progress with the eviction of Arron. A few years back Arron would have been impossible to vote out due to the anti-women, pro-hot guy vote promoted by the young girls... Things are achanging!!

My favorite season of Survivor was the season that Parvati had her bitch brigade all the way til the end. I love all female finals. It was brilliant.
This isn't about girl power though, I love all of the outsiders, especially adam and lauren. So i;'m not going girl-power on this one. The girls havn't made any kind of girl power alliance, so i don't think it would be fair for the girls to gang up against Adam and Luke A and Scott at this point, i think the outsiders alliance has nothing to do with gender.

Yup!, a few years ago it would have been inconcievable for a girl to survive against a male (Benedict vs Lauren) and even more for 2 females to survive against 2 males... (Becky and Deana surviving)

You obviously don't know anything about sociology, or you have a very racist sexist homophobic sociology teacher, because sociology has nothing to do with minority status.
Sociology is about how groups of people get along, which has nothing at all to do with their skin color, gender or sexuality, so please explain to me how sociology has anything to do with what i said??
If you've ever taken a sociology course then the first thing you'd learn is that you can't generalize about people based on their minority status.
Maybe you are taking sociology from a Nazi???

More like I've actually taken a social statistic class, devoted entirely to the study of behavior as it's categorized by either subjective or objective groups. For example, are men more likely than women to work from home. Do older people drink more or less frequently than younger people. If you think an entire branch of sociology does not exist, that's on you. I think you'll find most (http://www.gla.ac.uk/postgraduate/taught/socialstatistics/) major (http://www.stat.cornell.edu/) universities (http://www.socialsciences.manchester.ac.uk/postgraduate/courses/research/course/?code=02932) disagree (http://liberalarts.iupui.edu/sociology/index.php/graduates/areas_of_concentration) with you.
Incidentally - why do you automatically equate "female" to "minority status"?

I'm not saying that kind of study doesn't exist, i'm just shocked that yur paying to learn that crap. any behavioral study based on minority status has long been discredited by every serious educational body. If you can find any major educational institution that's wiling to say "black people behave this way, and women behave this way" i'll pay you 100 bucks, sounds like you go to a very poor school.

Right, IU, Purdue and Notre Dame are just TERRIBLE. You're the one who keeps twisting this into a "minority" thing, and I've been polite in ignoring that you've already lost this argument under Godwin's anyway. Really, a Nazi reference? Tres tacky.
Whether you like it or not, human beings come in both male and female varieties. There are physiological differences and chemical differences between those two varieties, hence issues like Klinefelters's, where a combination of 3 sex chromosomes instead of 2 leads to all kinds of hormone-related issues. The fact that people study these difference does not make them Mengele, it makes them sociologists.

yea, so tacky, referencing the most important event of the 20th century, so tacky. Anyone who actually is so brainwashed as to be convinced that it's tacky to refernce the Nazi's, well keep on being a sheep dude. You prolly learned that from the Anti-semetic far left teachers who can't win an an argument so they have to make stupid rules like "don't talk about WW2" in order to have a case.
Maybe you should think for yourself instead of letting Godwin place rules on you, ever think of that?? Last time i checked WW2 was a pretty important lesson for the world, so i think it's hilarious that you've been brainwashed into thinking that it';s wrong to talk about it.
European appeasement is making a comeback i guess.

No, I just know better than to cheapen the mass slaughter of so many people by equating it to someone disgreeing with you on the internet. Nazism has nothing to do with wondering if for the first time ever, women will outnumber men at the end of a reality show, any more than Nazism has to do with noticing when a school has its first transgender prom queen or a woman gets promoted to CEO of a company that has never had a female executive higher than a VP.
Perhaps you should just give us all a list of what is acceptable to discuss and what is not? So far, calling people a Nazi is ok, but acknowledging women doing something for the first time is not?

I also cannot see what stereotyping has to do with this topic at all.
