Ofcom to investigate 1,225 BB2012 complaints

Ofcom has confirmed that it has launched investigations in to three incidents from Big Brother 2012, including Conor McIntyre’s controversial comments about Deana Uppal.

The watchdog has recieved a total of 1,225 complaints about the series so far, the majority of which concern the Irish trainer’s ‘abusive’ behaviour towards the Miss India UK contestant.

Elsewhere, 114 complaints were made about an allegedly ‘racist’ slur Caroline used against Adam, whom she labelled a ‘ridiculous gorilla’ with ‘no sanitation’.

In addition, 3 people complained about an appearance from ex-housemate Victor Ebuwa on spin-off Bit On The Side, during which he called the current contestants “functioning retards”.

A Channel 5 spokesperson said: “Channel 5 is committed to complying with Ofcom’s broadcasting code and will help to facilitate a speedy investigation into this particular episode of Big Brother and Big Brother’s Bit on the Side.”

Executive producer Denis O’Connor previously defended (http://www.bbspy.co.uk/bb13/news/0629/big-brother-2012-executive-producer-defends-conor-decision) the decision not to remove Conor, claiming his actions had been “out of character”.

Anyway being serious I am glad that they've finally started to investigate Conor's comments towards Deana, they should also take a look at his comments about Benedict after he was evicted aswell.

I honestly do not see the point of the complainers carrying on watching bb and other shows like it tbh, they choose to watch reality tv, then they get all offended at the reality of it and no I'm in no way condoning what Conor or anyone else done but fgs this is the reason we now get a watered down, pc version of bb with no live feed IMO.

I literally dispise Victor, I hope they stop inviting him back to BOTS after this, he's genuinly unfunny to the point I turn off the TV when they have him on and I watch every single episode of BB and BOTS.
