Can't believe there hasn't been a thread on this :suspect: (or I'm just being silly and haven't spotted it)

Andrew Lloyd Webber is hunting for the next Jesus I believe, and has basically already found it in Nathan James :pipe: Live shows start tomorrow and you can just catch the tail end of tonight's episode if you tune into ITV1 now

Know me and Swag_Dag are watching but who else is?

Jesus Christ Superstar is one of my favourite film musicals, the voices of the actors in it and also the songs are just brilliant, so am loving this new ALW hunt for the new star for Superstar.

He's getting 99% of the votes, every night and will be crowned winner later on this week :worship:

But just in-case the public are ****ing idiots, I'm happy with Jeff and Rory.

I'm not expecting him to do overly well, he comes across as a bit arrogant, but it looks like there is a couple of fodder, so he should make it to at least Wednesday. :amazed:

I don't seem to ever have faith in my favourites, I'm such a pessimistic person.

Like in X Factor last year, I think every week I was like 'Nope, Marcus is definitely in the B2 this time' LMAO.

I love Jesus Christ Superstar, I also think there are some really good acts there any of which could do the role justice,
I absolutely adore the song,I Don't Know How To Love Him'.

OMG Kate, we have the same favourites <3. I kind of like Niall as well (well that song anyway, ****ing love Hurts).

I love how Lord Andrew made a massive deal about Jon coming back and he won't be an understudy, but he will compete, and he was absolutely **** LMAO.

I keep seeing on Twitter and elsewhere that Nathan is going to be the 'villain' of the show, I don't get it, he comes across well.

Trying to ruin Nathan's chances by saying he's cocky :bored:

He is a little bit cocky, however, I don't see that as always a bad thing in such shows, I think there needs to be a little bit of cockiness and arrogance, it at least shows a bit of personality to them in my opinion, and they will need some of that to land the role. Nathan is still one of my favourites to win :)

He might be confident, but I don't think he's come across as cocky, I think he just stands apathetic when he's getting his feed-back and it doesn't come across well. Hoping he isn't in the B2 tomorrow, but I think he's a potential =(.

The 1970's film musical of Jesus Christ Superstar is on ITV3 Sky channel 119 and ITV3+1 channel 180 at the moment, there are some good songs and vocals in that, well worth a watch.

Flawless again, amazing comments as well, he's come into his own and I see him as a contender now.

Jeff was poor which was sad to see, I think he'll be B2 tomorrow and he'll be on early because every night he's had a late slot so far.

David, sung my all time favourite song from my favourite band, was always going to be brownie points, gutted he was B2, hopefully it was a blip and he won't be back there again.

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE TOOL, HE WAS BEST OF THE B3:idc:

But basically I thought Roger was Nathan's competition and well, Nathan seemed to avoid the B3 despite his performance being last of the night and having little time to vote based on it... so he's basically just got Ben to take out and he's won :amazed:

The five left. Incase anyone doesn't want to know yet, have put it in a spoiler.

The Superstar contestants performed live again this evening, and for two of them it was the end of the road.

In a double elimination Jon Moses and Jeff Anderson left the show, as the final five were revealed.

Jon Moses from Newcastle sang Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For by U2;

Melanie C said: “You were in great voice tonight, I have been concerned on your higher notes but it was good tonight.”

Jason Donovan said: “That was a beautiful tender interpretation of a classic song, my only concern is that you should just go for it a little bit more, you need to blow us away.”

Andrew Lloyd Webber said: “You were a bit sharp in places, I hate to say this, I didn’t get Jesus of Nazereth, I got Jesus of Las Vegas.”

Jeff Anderson from Newtonards, Northern Ireland sang Whole Lotta Love by Lez Zepellin;

Dawn French said: “Wow, wow Jeff, you is one sexy Jesus, that was fantastic and how dignified you are you after last night and retaliating like that with that performance, you have come on so much this week, you’re a mammoth talent.”

Jason Donovan said: “Sexy Jeffy baby, finally we’re seeing you coming out of your shell. “

Andrew Lloyd Webber said: “The energy was from you tonight instead of the dancers and you released your inner rock god”
________________________________________
Roger Wright from East London sang Feeling Good by Nina Simone;

Melanie C said: An absolutely great song for you and I love seeing so much expression on your face.”

Dawn French said: “Is it a new Dawn you’re looking for? What I heard was a public proposal. It’s show 9 and you are shining so brightly.”

Andrew Lloyd Webber said: “You radiate an inner glow.”

Ben Forster from Sunderland sang Cold As Ice by Foreigner;

Melanie C said: “I just don’t know where you can go from here, it’s ridiculous, you’re amazing.”

Dawn French said: “Sunderland’s finest is on a roll, it was a very courageous performance and great chair walking.”

Jason Donovan said: “The standard of this competition is off the scale, that was intelligent, articulated, you give 100%, you could win this competition.”

Andrew Lloyd Webber: “You have grown the most in this competition and the one thing you do is completely convince us of the story, whilst you’re singing you remain yourself and make it your own.”

Rory from The Wirral sang Silenced By The Night by Keane;

Melanie C said: “That was a beautiful song from you.”

Dawn French said: That is you rising again to the top, so focused and so simple, I think we saw the real you tonight.”

Jason Donovan said: “You were right in the zone tonight, you have a very unique vocal, it reaches out and touches you, I really hope people keep you in this competition.”

Andrew Lloyd Webber said: “It was a fabulous vocal, we’ve now had four fabulous vocals in a row from you.”

David Hunter from Warrington sang Apologize by Timbaland;

Melanie C said: “You are so fantastic, you are one of our strongest vocalist and every time you perform it moves me.”

Jason Donovan said: The narrative played to your strengths and you sold that song so well, you are so unique, you come back fighting every night and I really hope you go all the way.”

Dawn French said: “There’s no bull about you, you’re completely effective and a thoroughly modern Jesus.”

Andrew Lloyd Webber said: You’re a fantastic actor and you’re a fantastic vocalist.”

Nathan James from Reading sang Sweet Child of Mine by Guns n Roses;

Dawn French said: “That was phenomenal, yet again the song is no problem, you conquered it, plus when you perform you cannot take my eyes off you, you’re an eye magnet.”

It's funny how everybody who has met him says he's a lovely person and he gets on with his fellow contestants, surely they'd say he was a terrible person.

This has turned into an almighty farce, Roger would be an awful Jesus in the show, he gets out of breath. This has I think been the worst of these type of talent selection shows for a musical/rock opera.

Add to that Mel C playing Mary Magdalene, oh for goodness sake, she will murder that beautiful song, 'I Don't Know How To Love Him'.I couldn't stand her voice in the Spice Girls.
Her comments and ridiculous dancing on the chair are awful to watch, Dawn French hasn't a clue and Andrew Lloyd Weevbber has made the worst and craziest decisions throughout.

I've seen Jesus Christ Superstar and love the film but feel pretty sure I will be giving this version and this tour of it a wide berth.

For a final. it was a really poor show, Ben did okay but somehow this demanding role doesn't seem right for him, Mel C sang 'I Don't Know How To Love Him' better than I thought she would but she didn't perform it, it needs real drama and strong vocals with emotion.
Doubt I will even try to catch up with this production on its tour, anywhere it is.

Black Dagger

Only good thing about the final was Lord Webber putting his differences aside and saying he wouldn't actually mind working with the really JCS (Nathan James) someday. :pipe:
