A DS member who went to the eviction said that Conor got a worse reception than Shiv and that the whole crowd were saying Get Conor Out, however they were shocked when they watched back the recording on TV and heard something completely different. Apparently, there were huge boos for Conor when they went to the house.

Here's the thread, in the thread the poster talks about that

Does that surprise you?

I want to see that :( would have been amazing to see his smug face when he heard those chants!

Eh sorry but I think that's bollocks, I really don't see any reason why C5 would go that effort to perform what would be such an obvious deception, probably more likely that from that one persons perspective among a crowd of hundreds (thousands?) the reception just sounded different from their position than it really was

its so strange because it does seem like the hms think he is popular, and no one would think a hm is popular if they are getting booed and their name is getting chant out!

Chris' eviction was slightly altered when I watched it back. Arron had bigger boos when we went to the house, PURE boos. We were chanting Chris' name when he was waiting to exit.

I will see if there are more views, but they do alter it. Eg. Aaron winning last year. My friend being there said it was completely different to how it was seen on TV.

During the conversation Deana had with Luke A that got her the laundry punishment, she mentioned people cheering Conor's name. Caroline is also convinced they were chanting Get Caz Out. They obviously are not hearing what people are saying outside, the question is how much it's being distorted.

I'm not surprised at all, Conor should have gotten way more boos.

I want to go to an eviction again and if Conor's still in I will clearly chant his name. If I am alone I will shout it at the top of my lungs if no one joins in. If he is gone, I will start a "Deana" chant when they go to the house.

Could be where he is standing. Also the Conor cheers were high-pitched girls so they stand out more.

Maybe brian uses a noise cancelling mic?

I doubt they covered them up. The housemates never seem hear the reaction they're getting from the crowd when Brian reads their name out. Ashleigh telling Shievonne she thinks she'll be cheered during the LF proves it.

I'm pretty sure everything sounds a lot different on tv unless it is filmed in a tv studio. What you hear on tv is what the microphones pick up and depending on where the microphones are you could hear something completely different on tv than if you were there. And I'm pretty sure they were cheering get Caroline out.

Dont believe anything that comes from the mouth of a person who think Ibiza has a different sun than the UK.

She is one of those people who were in the queue when God gave out looks (she was rather at the end of the queue though), but then got so fascinated with her own reflection in the mirror she forgot to queue up for a brain.

We were discussing this in another topic. Somewhere around BB9 or 10 they started working on 'mitigating' the serious and vile boos, the foul chants and having talked to someone who was there for BB11 we seemed to figure its something like this:

1. Yes, they have been reworking screening, security etc trying to keep more rowdy and obnoxious types out.

2. They seem to be bringing in much larger sections of friends, family and what seems to be staff and friends of the programme as well.

2.a It 'SEEMS' (we theorize) more mics (or more FROM those mics) that are in the friends and family section are getting pushed through to the viewing (listening) audience at home.
And LESS from the mics near the 'boo' peoples.

3. Sometimes it seems (I really cannot tell) but it SEEMS like Big Brother is allowing that manufactured 'crowd noise' to mix in with the legitimate crowd noise.
Which has a weird kind of mitigating effect 'dampening' effect on boos (and also cheers).

So, this was our theory anyways. But yes, something is going on with what we are hearing at home.

*keep in mind, this isn't necessarily purposely deceptive. What the people in a crowd hear is often different than what the microphones-mix-television speakers-your ears are going to hear.
And as pointed out. You can be in a 'boo' section and not fully pick up the 'cheer section' across the lot. So the mics might be 'more accurate' in the overall sense.

I heard chants for both and its not rocket science that it would depend on where you were stood.
Actually being there would give you a more restricted view of the overall picture not a better one i would have thought that much is obvious to anybody that has actually attended any live event.
