It's not "faux" outrage, i'm pretty sure it's real outrage when someone is chipping away at someone else's humanity in that way.

Faux sense of outrage? I'm sorry but I shall reiterate what I have said already. If a racist comment was made the situation would have been treated VERY differently and they would no doubt have acted on this.

I campaign very heavily on these issues in my life and I'm not going to let this pass by and excuse it just because the show is aimed at "an adult audience". Does that excuse violence, homophobia, sexism and racism then?

Well what else would I do? Write in my diary as to how pissed off I was at the comment? I think it makes much more sense to raise the subject in the place where others will more than likely have heard the comment and to see what they think.

I'm not sure what you're trying to prove from your pseudo-intellectual snipes at me and others but it is simply not ok to simply put someone in their place over a comment that, BY LAW, is on a par with a racist comment. Emma goes over to her after remarking her strong agreement and puts the microphone to her, the woman says, "Lauren is the biggest, whinging crybaby I have ever seen in my life. Luke A is very calculating, people need to study people, you see I haven't got a degree in Pyscology, but I am aware.... I'm aware". Emma asks, "Why do you think Luke A is calculating?". Woman in audience responds, "Do you know what? Luke A sits there going (does grunting, pulls faces and covers face with her hand), and he just, c'mon now, like, everyone else is kind of bold like, everyone comes at Conor but at least Conor is old enough to say what he thinks. Luke A is all discreet and acts all like a good little boy, girl, boy, whatever, anyway he says......" (Groans from the audience and Emma). Emma replies, "Oh guys c'mon, there's no need to get personal and there is no need to get rude about people" (as she is turning her back and walking away from the woman.

Luke A was never a woman. he was born genetically female. If you think having a vag is all there is to being a woman then you don't know much. Gender identity is not just about yur physiology. Luke A had female physiology as a child yes, but before puberty there is really very little difference between boys and girls.

I've just watched it. And i watched the show from the beginning, and trying to pick out who in the audience would make such a transphobic comment, and i'm ashamed to say that i got it totally wrong. I picked the older white lady in the back row, thinking, yes, she looks like the transphobic person. I was shocked when i saw who it actually was. turns out it was a young(ish) black woman. Proves you can't assume anything. I actually feel guilty for thinking it was gonna be the older white lady.

It just proves that prejudice is BS.

I agree that the audience and Emma responded appropriately, I hope that woman isn't allowed back on BOTS.

Had he been in the studio he probably would have handled the comment with the dignity he obviously has to have come this far. I know that I don't post very often, but I am here a lot and I have to agree with lostalex.

I think that El Proximo has gotten off very lightly with a one day ban as most of his comments are extremely homophobic and/or transphobic and seem to be posted just to upset people or cause arguments.
