Today is the start of one of the holiest times in the Jewish calendar, that of Rosh Hashanah, commonly thought of as "Jewish New Year".

This is a time to begin introspection, looking back at the mistakes of the past year and planning the changes to make in the new year

During this time the eating of apples dipped in honey, is a symbol of the Jewish for a sweet new year.
