It was an amazing ceremony, I wept in several parts but that was probably down to me being all flu-y and delusional.

It was such an amazing ceremony. I thought I was gonna cry so many times, but luckily my testicles stopped me.

I was by far the best out of those, Shaun :hmph:

At least we know that some of us on here have our priorities right. The British Olympics > Big Brother. In every way.

But I would like to say that the Olympic ceremony really did surprise me, so much work went into the making of the event and it really was a spectacular sight.

Think it would be a good idea to have a general daily Olympic thread to discuss things in, since it's basically on all day

King Gizzard
28-07-2012, 01:00 AM
So there was no need for all the threads and the sub forum then :pipe:

Novo
28-07-2012, 01:06 AM
Well they are for main news about each sport.. i mean like for general discussion about everything to do with the Olympics i think it would be all better in daily threads

Jayson
28-07-2012, 01:07 AM
Can't see what the point would be tbh

28-07-2012, 01:28 AM
There are too many different events happening at the same time, it'd be full of smart people like myself talking about Taekwondo and idiots like Novo talking about Water Polo at the same time

Novo
28-07-2012, 01:31 AM
I doubt the Water Polo thread will even reach 10 pages :idc:

I forgot to say last night, I really liked the Arctic Monkeys and I usually don't :D they put on a good performance. At one point I thought they were going to get silly and start smashing guitars and stuff, but they didnt

Just think it's very much easier to keep it all in 1-2 threads instead of having to search for an ''olympic tiddlywinks thread'' which will only get 4-5 posts for the whole Games

Jayson
28-07-2012, 12:33 PM
Anyway, did you watch the ceremony, Nathan?

Really, really amazing show last night. Was the first of these opening ceremonies that I'd seen (seen clips of Beijing and some others) so not really sure how it compares, but it was just fantastic for me. Started off a little dull I thought, but once they'd got rid of the countryside set things really livened up.

Highlights were definitely the Queen parachuting with Bond (couldn't stop laughing at that), the rings that were made during the industrial revolution, Mr Bean, the digital age, the lights around the stadium and of course the cauldron which was just beautiful. Stunning.

Was a bit underwhelmed by the fireworks but everything else made up for it. Well done Danny Boyle and co.
