My thanks to Luke A for pointing out what I would never have noticed.

On topic: If this is true (and I doubt it) then she would not do it. A gastric band operation is extremely drastic and potentially life threatening. Anyone who would think a programme which encourages a person to have a GS and then follow them is a good idea would find themselves in a legal minefiled.

A GS operation is only allowed if the person's weight and associated problems are life threatening and only under the strictest medical practices. It isn't like a boob job or liposuction.

Everyone knows that Becky, who is only 19, needs to follow a strict diet and exercise regime. She would have to prove beyond doubt that her problem is medical not merely a result of her greed and lazyness.

When Jamie Oliver came to do his school food program in the US, he did the chicken nugget demo the same way he did for UK kids. Only in the US, when he finished and asked if anyone wanted to eat one - all the kids raised their hands, because the smell of cooking nugget overrode everything they'd just watched. I bet Becky would be a hand-raiser, too.
