View Full Version : They should never have had the countdown...

The countdown REALLY wasnt needed at all.
Money should have went up slower, and literally a second after it hit 50k, that was the end of it. Money goes back to 0 on the screen.
Would have been much better viewing IMO...see if peoples greed loses them 50k (which it definitely would have with Luke, not too sure about Conor)
By starting the countdown, they effectively just handed them 50k. No challenge or ANYTHING in that really

Nah i thought it was really good.
If they hadnt had that countdown at 50k noone would have hit it and the twist would have basically flopped.
Luke S' face was one of the best moments in BB history.

This I agree with. But adding the countdown made the whole 'up to 50k' thing really really pointless

It should have gone down from 50K

There was no real risk or excitement at all.
It was just a case of "the money will count up to £50 grand and then we'll tell you when to press the button".
Bloody awful!!!! The whole idea of diluting the prize money has always been an awful one but this pile o' crap just takes the biscuit!

Yeah it would have been way better if it counted down slowly, they would have had to act on impulse..

They should have just told them 'if you leave it to long the money will be wiped, how greedy can you afford to be?'
imo however they wanted 1 of them to walk away with £50K, I dont really understand why

Going down would be worse because surely they'd both just press it straight away, better having it build up and the minute of suspense with neither of them knowing what to do

For a bad twist the count down was even worse.
They should have gone up slowly with the minute ending at 50 and no one getting the cash if they didn't press it before, basically making it almost impossible to get exactly 50 grand. If it counted up slow there is no way they would wait the full time, also they would start counting with the increase since that's human nature and probably over shoot, at least giving the true winner a chance at the 100,000.

I think it worked out perfectly. People would always have something to complain about, but oh well.
Either of them had ample opportunity to take the money. Either could have taken the cash at 25K, 30K, whatever. They waited until it got to 50K with 5 seconds left. BB could have dropped the prize to 0 a second after it hit 50K, but they didn't and that was fine.
People who say they should not have shown or down a countdown from 5 seconds are silly - almost every game show does it.
Both had the chance to take the cash - 1 won and that was that.

Impulse is what makes it fun. If you want to make money slowly, get a job. :joker:
