These things never turn out well. i'm not sure what's worse, being raped and killed, or being kept alive as a sex slave.

If she is still alive i hope she works up the courage to escape.

It's Croydon, Surrey - but it's also part of Greater London and not too far from where I live in Bromley. New Addington is a sh*thole, wouldn't live there if you paid me. The police are saying they have reports of a guy in a white van who'd been hassling local kids, so I hope she's not been abducted.

A police dog team are searching Tia Sharp's grandmother's house as the hunt for the missing schoolgirl continues.

The 12-year-old was last seen on Friday leaving the home in New Addington in Croydon, south London.

This morning, two police search teams were briefed and began searching a wooded area at the bottom of the estate, around 400 yards from her grandmother Christine Sharp's home.

Later, two officers with a police search dog searched the terraced home for 30 minutes shortly after the family were given an inquiry update by Detective Chief Inspector Nick Scola.

He emerged from the house, where Mrs Sharp, 46, lives with her boyfriend Stuart Hazell, 37, and told reporters: "I have been in to see the family and update them with details of the investigation.

"Of those details there is nothing I can share with you at the moment."

He said an update would be provided later.

Sky's crime correspondent Martin Brunt, at the scene, said: "This is where the family say Tia was last seen.

"And what continues to frustrate and puzzle and concern police is they have yet to find any evidence of Tia leaving the house, getting on a bus or tram that would have taken her into Croydon - which is where she told her family she was going that Friday."

Mr Hazell was, according to the family, the last man to see Tia before she left the house.

Some newspapers this morning reported details of Mr Hazell's background, which could fuel tensions on the estate, Brunt added.

As the search continues, members of her local community have pledged to do all they can to help find her.

Tia's stepfather David Niles said the family were "in bits", adding: "I just want to find my little girl."

Mr Niles, wearing a Find Tia campaign T-shirt, said: "How would you feel if it was your daughter? We're in bits. The whole country has helped us and is supporting us."

The Sun newspaper has offered a £25,000 reward for information that will lead to police finding Tia.

Tia vanished after telling relatives she was going to the Whitgift Centre in Croydon town centre.

Police have been scouring hours of CCTV footage but said they had not found any trace of the schoolgirl, who has never gone missing before.

The media seem to be focusing on her grandmothers boyfriend:

"Stuart Hazell, 37, is the partner of 12–year–old Tia Sharp's maternal grandmother, Christine, and was the last member of the family to see her.

There are conflicting reports about whether he last saw her at the house he shares with her grandmother in New Addington, south London, or whether he walked her to a local tram station. Hazell has lived with Mrs Sharp, 46, for about four years, having previously dated her daughter, Tia's 31–year–old mother Natalie Sharp.

Hazell was jailed for 12 months in 2010 at Croydon Crown Court after being caught with a machete. His father, Keith, confirmed that his son had been in prison but said that since meeting Mrs Sharp he had turned his life around. "Having the family around has really sorted him out," he said.

"He is a different person and is really happy. He had a biological daughter but has never really seen her. He treated Tia like his own."

Tia spent every weekend with her grandmother and Hazell. On Friday, Mrs Sharp, a care worker, went to work and had left Tia in her partner's care."

Jesus, my own daughter is twelve, I certainly wouldn't let her travel alone on a bus like that to go shopping, especially if I was living in London.

Kids start secondary school at 11 here so its not uncommon in the holidays for kids (as they are all issued with bus passes) to use public transport to go to the cinema, or shopping with their friends. What is unusual is for her to go on her own, and with no phone or bus pass, somethings not quite right.

It's very often someone close to home involved in cases like this. It's over a week now since her disappearance so chances of her being found alive are slim. I pray she is found alive and well, but fear for her. I hate the world today when I read stuff like this, it's sickening and scary. Can remember being devasted about Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman suffering at the hands of that evil bastard Huntley. He should have been put down like an animal.

There are signs of a major development in the hunt for Tia Sharp as police cordon off her grandmother's house.

Police hunting for missing Tia Sharp have sealed off an area around her grandmother's house amid signs of a new development in the case.

In the last hour, the missing girl's grandmother Christine Sharp, 46, left her house in south London with police as search dogs scoured a wooded area near her home.

She was escorted by a detective and a family liaison officer, and declined to comment to waiting reporters.

Afterwards, more than 20 officers arrived at her home on the New Addington estate, near Croydon, and placed a cordon around the property.

Detectives at the scene declined to explain what the cordon was about.

But Scotland Yard said the area was sealed off as part of pre-planned search.

A spokesman said a media briefing that had been arranged with Area Commander Neil Basu had been postponed.

The locals shouldn't care that they have been out searching, fruitless or not, as no-one knew at that time what had happened to her, and so no search is in vain, it is worth the effort no matter what. I would spend my every waking hour helping in a search.

Tia was reported missing on 3 August, sparking a huge search effort in Croydon, south London.

A body, which has yet to be identified, was discovered at Tia's grandmother's house in New Addington on Friday.

Stuart Hazell, 37, who is the partner of Tia's grandmother Christine Sharp, is also being questioned by detectives on suspicion of murder.

Police revealed a 39-year-old man and a woman aged 46 were also arrested on Friday.

They are being questioned at a south London police station.

The man accused of murdering schoolgirl Tia Sharp has been remanded in custody after appearing in court.

Mr Hazell, 37, appeared at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court via video-link from Sutton police station.

Although police are still waiting for formal identification of the body found on Friday, the victim is named in the murder charge as Tia.

No plea was entered to the charge, which accuses Mr Hazell of murdering the girl between 2 and 11 August.

He confirmed his name, date of birth, and address as The Lindens, New Addington, where Tia was found dead.

Mr Hazell will appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, with a further date for a preliminary hearing recorded as 19 November.

Christine Sharp, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 39-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have both been bailed to return to a south London police station in October.

A post-mortem examination on the body found in Ms Sharp's house was halted on Saturday night and is expected to recommence this week.

Meanwhile, it has emerged the body was found in a black bed sheet in a black bag in the loft of the house.

A south London council will conduct a serious case review following the death of Tia Sharp, who lived in the borough.

Merton Council will conduct the review, done after the death of a child where abuse or neglect is known or suspected.

Serious case reviews, undertaken by Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCBs), examine the role of local agencies - including social services - in the welfare of the child who has died and their family.

Ged Curran, Chief Executive of Merton Council, said: "The Local Safeguarding Children Board will now commission a serious case review, the standard procedure in a tragic case such as this.

"The review will be assisted by the police, health services and local authorities."

Tia Sharp: Hazell 'Took Photo Of Girl's Body'
Prosecutors claim Stuart Hazell had a sexual attraction to the 12-year-old, whose body was found in her grandmother's loft.7:30pm UK, Tuesday 07 May 2013

The man accused of killing 12-year-old Tia Sharp took a photograph of her lying naked on her bed shortly after she died, a court has heard.

Prosecutors say Stuart Hazell took the image of the schoolgirl at her grandmother's house in London on August 3 last year.

Hazell, 37, who denies murder, shook his head as the image was shown to jurors at the Old Bailey.

The prosecution referred to a pathologist who examined Tia's body, who said marks on her skin suggested she had been deliberately moved into the position seen in the photograph after she died.

On the opening day of the trial, the prosecution alleged Tia's blood was found on an item belonging to her grandmother, which they claim suggests Hazell had a sexual interest in the youngster.

Jurors heard two memory cards found in the house contained "extensive pornography", including some of under-age girls, as well as several images of Tia and video footage the prosecution claimed was filmed secretly.

At one stage, Tia's mother and several members of the family left the court room visibly distressed.

Andrew Edis QC, prosecuting, told the jury they will have to decide whether Hazell is guilty of murder or whether Tia died in an accident.

The court heard she died on the evening of August 2 or the morning of August 3, although her body was not found until August 10, hidden in the loft at her grandmother's house.

Mr Edis said: "What we know is that after she died he put her in the loft. That's not what you would normally do with someone who has suffered an accident.

"Generally speaking, if someone has an accident and you are concerned about their health you call an ambulance."

The jury of seven men and five women were told the loft was inspected by police twice before Tia's body was found.

"They only found it, I am afraid, because it had started to smell," Mr Edis said. "It was quite well hidden. It has been moved up and then across within the loft space."

He said Tia's body had been "carefully wrapped" in a sheet and bin bags before being sealed with Sellotape.

Meanwhile, the prosecution claimed Hazell's semen was found on Tia's bed and on her night clothes, while her blood was found on the belt he was wearing when he was arrested.

The court was also told how Hazell, of New Addington, London, claimed Tia had fallen down the stairs while they were playing and broken her neck.

It was alleged he was "playing the role of bereaved grandparent who wanted nothing more than the child to be found and to come home" in a television interview played to the jury.

In the broadcast he said Tia was like his own child and said he did not know what had happened to her.

The trial continues.

Yet another murdering bastard.
