How quickly they spread.

It was just one area one second, and then suddenly it was literally all over the country.

Also the fact that newcastle DIDNT riot. That really did shock me. Especially knowing that the messages were sent out asking people to arrange to meet up for one...just noone turned up :S

By the way, is anybody watching The Briefs on ITV1 tonight? On at 21.00. It shows lawyers interviewing the idiots who took part in the riots and all that.

Oh yeah...and some gay couple whose fight ended up in a police station, but I'm obviously on about the riots.

Considering I live in a City that has an annual riot every Summer - nothing. And I don't know why you lot are still talking about them, Jesus.

Perhaps because what we have now is virtually a one-year anniversary of the events?

What surprised me most is that some people said the riots were in protest at the police shooting and not an opportunity to smash things up and get free stuff... and that some people actually bought that.

I just thought it was insane at how they happened, like all this pent up rage just exploded from no-where. The way they raged on and on for days was just as mad omfg.

One of the things that shocked me the most was the amount of lawless people there are. I used to think that people are good, well not all of course, sure there the ones who have wonky brains and think society is something to be exploited.

But I thought that even if there were no police the majority would behave good, that people would look out for each other.

Also it surprised me how fragile this world is, even the great modern cities. Although maybe since there are loads of people with very little and some with a lot, I guess that injustice will eventually manifest itself.
