I think what they find strange is the excess femenisim in those men, not the fact that they take care of themselves. It freaks me out to see a man behave so womanly, women are generally attracted to manly men. That's what i've noticed at least. You don't often see women with a guy that's more attractive than they are, or higher on the scale. It's very common to see men with women that are more attractive though.
