....were bitching about The Situation the same way Julian and Julie were, would it have been labeled as bitching or malicious? I think so. But seeing as though it is from Julian and Julie it will be regarded as nothing more than a fleeting discussion that has a hint of truth to it.

Btw, i don't really have a problem with what they said, it's human nature to have a bit of a bitch, but it did strike when it was happening that if any of the younger lot stated the same most people would start slating them for it.

Julian's bitching has not gone unnoticed at Situation Nation's Headquarters, don't worry about that :idc:

They are the two best in there, they are allowed to have a natter from time to time.

I don't think the oldies mean it in as nastiness as such in comparison to when younger HMs usually bitch

Agreed. And how can you not laugh at Julie's quick wit or Julians One-liners?

Julian's done **** all in there. Everyone goes on about how Hillarious he is and how quick his wit, and his put downs are. He's said about 2 funny things since he's been in there.

Talk about bitter because Mike made more in a year than they could make in 20 years.

Considering he doesn't know who the **** Mike is (like most of us) and probably doesn't want to know, I doubt he carse how much he has made.

He brought up Mike making a lot of money when he was in the diary room, and Julie brought it up again when they were together.

That doesn't mean he envys it?

Not saying he does, but it means he is aware of it and it makes it a possibility.

I actually went off Julie and Julian tonight... not really because of their bitching but Julian isn't living up to my expectations and Julie is starting to seem like she's acting a lot.

Calling someone dense is pretty nasty.

But again, i'm not even all that bothered by it, it's human nature to have a bit of a bitch and a moan, we all do it. The thing that gets me is the fact that hypocrisy rears it's head in situations like this. Your comment alone proves this. If those comments last night were made by either of the girls, or even the likes of Harvey and Ashley, people would have slated them for it, but because it's made by an older generation perhaps (or perhaps it's looks based), they are deemed as harmless.

Must admit I don't get what his appeal is, especially as he's earned soo much. Apart from the slightly odd 'occasional table' julian comment in the DR, this was hardly full-on bitching in the way caroline/*******igh specialised.

They are good house-mates, Danica & Rhian aren't, so they can get away with it. :pipe:

Think you do have a point there, with the older housemates it's just seen as them having a bit of harmless gossip really

Having lived more years on the planet, been through some stuff, experienced life and observed people, the older housemates are generally in a better place to sum people up.

So what you are essentially saying here is; older people are allowed an opinion and younger people are not. Btw, calling someone dense is not mature at all.

Also, i do not think it is strictly an age thing, even though this topic is starting to gear that way, it is a multiple of factors.

The only thing i thought was out of order was Julian saying the sitch was dense when he was in the diary room. I dont believe he is, i dont think he understands Julian's wit.
Julian & Julie were mainly saying that they didnt get why he earned so much money after so little time in tv.

No, that is not essentially what I'm saying. I'm saying older people have more experience of life and of people are in a better place to make a judgement. I never said anything about anyone not having an opinion, essentially or otherwise.

Calling someone dense is quite acceptable if the person saying it believes it to be true. And I happen to agree with him. If you are a fan of Mike, I daresay your opinion will differ, and that's fine.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, only some opinions are informed and some aren't. That's just the way it is.

Just because someone is older and therefore has more life experience and is 'in a better place to make a judgement' does not excuse cruelty. Again, if some select other few made those comments last night it would have been labeled as 'bitching', the fact that Julie and Julian are a lot older should not come into it.

Btw, yes calling someone 'dense' is rude, no matter what the person truly believes. If i went on a date, and my date looked like a car wreck and i therefore called her a car wreck, would that be acceptable just because i believed it? No, of course not.

Again, just to clarify, i really don't think what was said last night was such a big deal, i'm just merely saying that hypocrisy is evident in situations like this.

"Cruelty"? A touch over-dramatic, don't you think?

I don't see what your date potentially looking like a car wreck has to do with this conversation but as you've offered this analogy I'll run with it. No, it would not be kind to tell her she looks like a car wreck. But I bet you'd discuss it with your mates afterwards and probably have a bit of a laugh behind her back.

The housemates bitch all the time, and the younger ones bitch the most. You think because someone is older they should hold their tongue? What is evident is this: in some quarters it seems that it's okay to bitch as long as the people bitching are buff and have big tits. Anyone older is just being cruel.

You stated that what Julian said regarding 'The Situation' being dense was acceptable because that's what he believed, i offered the analogy of another situation where someone was being rude and asked you on whether or not you thought it was acceptable for me to call my date a 'car wreck' just because i believed she was. Whether you say it to someones face or not, it's still rude.

Aye? That is completely NOT what i am saying, not sure how i can make it any clearer. I am saying bitching is slated when it's done by younger people (let's just say younger people for now, but as i said before it's not strictly an age thing) but when older people bitch, it's deemed as nothing more than harmless gossip. Hypocrisy it what i am saying, no more, no less. I have no problem with bitching in the house, i am merely just pointing out the hypocrisy. If you disagree then fair enough, we'll agree to disagree.

Julian is a bit envious of The Situations' success and status. |Julian is fuming that Mike Situ is a multi millionaire despite having no talent, no years of grafting and not much intellect. So Julian takes little pot shots e.g. occasional table.

Julian has skulked around the underbelly of showbiz since the Comedy Awards Lamont comment. Thankfully by the time he was acceptable for a come back his brand of 'oo-er, coooee I am so gay I could put a fist in my mouth, ooo-er' was old hat. Now we are bombarded with Graeme Norton, Paul OGrady and Alan Carr's Chatty man (all which once went out on the same night!) there's no need for Clarey. His comedy is no longer shocking (thanks to awful Frankie Boyle) or regarded as funny by most comedy loving under 30s. He's as about as relevant as Frankie Howerd, Joe Pasquale or Duncan Norvelle.

The Situation is dense, for sure.

Not knowing how to spell 'Pounds' is a clue.
