View Full Version : Julian , sinking without a trace

I have just finished watching the highlights show tonight and yet again Julian was nowhere to be seen. He literally had no involvement with the show, he played no part at all in the Gods and Mortals Task. Was it just the edit , no I don't think it was.
This is bad news for Julian Clary fans (of which I am one) , he risks becoming anonymous on this show. He is not offering anything, he is not involved in any of these tasks. He hasn't been part of a major storyline thus far and although I hate to admit it, he is failing badly on this show.
I suspect he will be up for Nomination and you would have to wonder how long he can stay in CBB. It's also useful to note that the major voting demographic is probably a younger age group than Julian.
One final point to raise certainly with respect to the G&M task, was there a comment made by Julie to keep Julian as a mortal. Perhaps Julie is playing Julian as well.
Shame really I had high hopes for Julian.

He needs to go, whatever airtime he does get is taking it away from the lovely Danica.

Yeah, I'd rather watch Danica than Julian...he is boring.

Funnily enough, his bessie mate Julie...who in her own opinion cant go a day without a bit of camp..didnt seem to want him to be a God....instead she opted for two easily led dorks...and Samantha... worried about the competition are we Julie?

He'll silently float to the final, in which he'll have next to no competition and will likely end up winning it.
You're forgetting that everybody else in the house are also dull or hated!

Know what you meean, Nedusa. I was disappointed, too, as I had high hopes for Julian at the start.
For some reason he seems to have gone into appeasement mode and is doing his best to remain uncontroversial, but doesn't realise that being controversial is one of his strengths.
I long to see him exercising his quick and incisive wit and bettering the harridan Julie at every turn. I, too, heard her comment about keeping him as a Mortal and agree with Cherie B that Julie sees him as major competition. she tends to be wary of anyone who's more intelligent than she is - hence her vitriolic comments about Coleen, too, I think.

Yes I agree re the task Julie was thinking two moves ahead and as you say probably sees Julian as one of her adversaries in the final. However Julian may have enough of a fan base to slip quietly into the final week. But at some point he has to take the gloves off and let rip.....!!!!

Julie definitely appears to have dumped him - she probably doesn't need him any more, I think there is quite a big difference between his private persona and his job as a comedian - in reality he is fairly pensive and almost morose at times. Before he went in he said his motive for doing the show was 'desperation' and i think he was telling the truth - he is just doing it for the cash and maybe a little boost to his career. I still like him though and think he still has a good chance of winning simply on the basis that he will have pissed off less people than most of the others.

With the adverts each hi-light show is only 44 minutes long, so they cannot show EVERYTHING that happens or is said. BB do love a fauxmance so they will show all that guff before anything else unfortunately...

Yes I can see that has been the theme this CBB, however it doesn't answer the question completely since Celebs like Julian are paid a pretty penny to go into the House, and you would expect them to have a certain amount of airtime set aside. So if there is nothing being shown that involves Julian , it's probably because there is nothing to show that involves Julian.
And that is a shame....!!!

Well they have all been paid a lot to go in there & I don't think it works like that, in that they get a certain amount of airtime. The celebs don't care how much airtime they get, they just care about the money... If arguments, bitching & flirting are going on they are going to show that over Julian making a few saucy jokes & double entendres...

No I didn't mean the Celebs get airtime put aside for them, but more likely the BB production company want to try and include as much footage from their "big players" as they can to try and vindicate their high fees by maximising viewing figures.

I thought he would ensure he had a higher profile in the house but when he does something like the storybook task and other things he does shine and is really funny.
He should make the final and then it will be down to the public really.
He failed to make it as a God because he didn't do the tasks that well, Julie was only one deciding who were Gods,She and Martin chose Harvey to be one, because he was the only housemate who never moved an inch during the throwing part of the Gods and Mortals task.
After that the decisions were made even moreso by more than just her, Martin clearly didn't want Julian to be a God as neither did Harvey.

But this is Channel 5, owned by Richard Desmond, owner of trashy mags whos main demographic wants to see the likes of Mike, Danica, Rhian etc... I'm actually shocked they put any celebs in there who are over 30 :joker:

So the King of Reality TV programmes, the great Social TV experiment has now been reduced to nothing more than a showcase for up and coming page 3 girl wannabes, Z- list strippers, failed popstar/rappers and young reality TV bit part players. No place for actual established Celebrities...
It looks as if the writing is well and truly on the wall...!!!

I'm really hoping Julian steps up his game this last week and takes Julie down - he is starting to see her manipulative ways so here's hoping. I still love him to bits and will be voting for him as I think he has been himself all the way through, even if that is different to his public persona he's still my winner.

Of course, Endemol, the makers of BB & CBB, has strong links with MTV, who make Jersey Shore, of which The Occasional Table is a 'cast' member. Julian is just a very witty, intelligent and talented comedian who doesn't a chance without the kind of support that the seemingly talent-free Mike enjoys.

I think Sams presence is also playing a part in keeping Julian in the background, he seems very wary of her and what she could write after the event, and it seems he is right to be wary...a few days ago Sam was adamant in the DR that she couldnt write about anyone in the house, she seems to have changed her tune last night.

Fair point, Julian does seem to have a problem with Sam, perhaps he has suffered in the past with journalists trying to be his friend only to write and publish damning articles about his personal life.
But in this instance in the House he hasn't really done anything that Sam could use in future articles. Maybe you're right, maybe he doesnt want to let his guard down whilst she is in there. So maybe we might start seeing the real Julian on Saturday after the most beautiful woman in the house finally leaves after Fridays evictions:joker:....!!!!

He has had a lot of issues with the Daily Mail in particular, which is her paper she writes for, it doesn't surprise me that he will be wary of anyone connected with that pile of trash.

It's only the right-minded people who read the daily mail...If you know what I mean...haha
Julian is staying away from the likes of sam and her weird stepford wife/ 50's housewife attitude.
Distancing himself from julie who seems to be playing the part of bet lynch on acid has to be done, but in doing so he has reduced his airtime as it is becoming the 'crazy ol pissy knickers show' :(

Julian will stay close to Julie, they both have good mutual respect for each other, they won't always agree but they will stick together in the main in my opinion.
They have all through, that will carry on.

Surprised to see a Journalist in the CBB House, even more surprised to see that she's still in there.
