View Full Version : martins cop out nominations?

the truth

Just to prove I am the truth I am now writing a thread slating my favourite housemate at the start, the legend that is martin kemp

his noms tonight were a hopeless cop out

he voted julian because he had tooth ache? got to be an all time low of weakest nominations

he also voted samantha because she had a family and needed to go home, the same excuse he used for someone else last week (I think colleen?) and jasmine. he later sort of leaked other reasons why he thought jasmine couldnt handle it all, fair enough but why say it later?:conf:

come on martin, we know youre an intelligent bloke, we know you dont like stuff like danicas behaviour nor much of julies bad mouthing, so spit it out face to face man!

My guess is he genuinely wanted rid of julian and sam , the real question is why?:conf:

he needs to seriously step it up to take the crown, as it stands he looks like a nice guy who will finish a boring but respectable 3rd place, bronze medallist, but when it comes to spandau ballet, we always expect GOLD!

Agree, they were embarrassingly rubbish and pathetic. I don't really understand why he wanted those 2 up either

I dont think he understood either? who would he have voted if it had been in the diary room? julie and danica or julian and sam? hmmm:conf:

He's been a real disappointment. He ducked out on the noms tonight. He didn't vote Julie although I think he would have liked to then went into the diary room talking about her and adding the old chestnut, how much he likes her.

Just afraid of being controvertial. I seriously hope he doesn't win as he's not lived up to his promises on entering the house.

Out of the house martin Kemp is someone's work I appreciate the most but I don't think he has been interesting or entertaining in the house.

He is keeping away from Julie because she has a fan base and nobody is nominating her because they think she is an icon and noming a 70yr old would be bad for their image. They are all handing the ugly old meddling and scammer bitch the crown on a plate.

I think he wanted Julian up for certain, face to face they try to give nicer reasons overall.

I think he sees in Julie, some things he doesn't like that much but I believe he genuinely holds strong respect for her as to age and status as an actress as I believe she does him too.
It is why I don't think he will ever want to be seen nominating a 70 year old actress who the Nation has held in high esteem for decades during her time on Coronation Street.
He may feel he would probably like to nominate her but doesn't want to be one who is seen doing so.
He may hope she goes too far as to the things he doesn't like that others may nominate her but I cannot see him at this late stage now nominating her.

I was surprised he nominated Samantha again.
I felt sure after his ridiculing of Danica with Lorenzo in the Gods room after watching her on the screen that she would have been his first nomination definately.

Martin is playing the game. I predict he will nominate Julie and TOT next time.

Whats the point in getting dragged into the embarrassing behaviour around him they all get paid regardless of where you finish. Martin is just keeping his dignity while he waits for payday unlike some of the numptys in there.
Dont make the mistake of thinking he is interested in this tardfest.
Six figure payday dont mind if i do thanks and see ya :)

Call me controversial if you like, but I detect a slight whiff 0f homophobia about Martin & Lorenzo's nominations for Julian.

Really? I don't think so

It's a suspicion I've had a couple of times about some of the guys who nominated Julian. I may be wrong, but it crossed my mind that it might be a reason.

I disagree Clootie, Martin is very aware of public perception and the power of BB to make HMs a laughing stock in, so his nomination of Julian was to gain public approval more than anything else, its also quite likely Julian has said he would like to go home in fact I think he said it as well just before noms, something along the lines of I wish Id never come back or something like that. I think Lorenzo is on the same wavelength as Martin and is aware of people around him (his nomination for Jasmine which blew up in his face when he thought she wanted to be with her son). I like the Prince and Martin, both are keeping their integrity and Prince has stepped up his game since the boos, though has not gone down the Julie route slagging everyone off behind their backs thankfully.

I respect your POV, Cherie, but it was a suspicion that was niggling at me that I felt I needed to share.

I had high expectations of Martin and am a little disappointed. Your take on things may be right, but he risks coming across as a bit spineless if he persists in being so cautious. Both he and Lorenzo strike me as being a bit dim sometimes; paralysed by inertia and unsure of how to make an impact.

I think that's more likely as well Cherie, Julian doesn't need the exposure like some of the others so he probably can't wait to get out of there and back to his own life

It wasn't homophobic at all. He hasn't nominated him before. Martin's nominations are about avoiding who he didn't want to upset face to face, i.e. Julie. As the OP said, it was a total cop out, nothing sinister about it.

Okay, fair enough. I'm prepared to be convinced.

most definitely a cop out, I was very shocked he had such poor reasons.

Should take himself out then.
