Just made some wholemeal pastry for a chicken pie and, for some weird reason, it turned out very thin, wafery and wrinkly.

It reminded me, in more ways than one, of Julie's wrinkly old boat.

Mind you, I did make it with lard (in the traditional northern way) so I suppose I shouldn't have been so surprised.

Actually, Fosse. I'm a smoker and nicotine gum chewer and I've got quite a good complexion.

Mind you, I do chew with my mouth closed and hope to have given up smoking by the time I'm 70.
