Julie Goodyear has received her letter from home in the Celebrity Big Brother UK house, having lost it as part of the weekend’s ‘Acid’ task.

Julie, Martin, Prince Lorenzo and Ashley all missed out on their letters after half of them were ‘destroyed’.

However Julie got hers as part of this week’s BBTV shopping task.

Whenever the news bulletin trigger is played into the house, Julie as the task’s newsreader has 1 minute to go immediately to the large task room, take a seat behind the news desk, put on her glasses, a jacket and a wig.

The rest of the housemates, also have 1 minute to rush onto the sofas in the living area. If they do not make it to their designated places within this time they will fail the news show.

All housemates must be on the sofas ready to watch ‘BBTV News’. In order to pass the task Julie must read every single news item that appears on the screen in front of her.

In the second of Julie’s calls to the task room, she was given a script that contained an “exclusive copy” of her letter which she had to read out to the group.

The other housemates applauded the news, but were quite shocked by Big Brother’s kindheartedness.

“That was quite nice, it shows they do have a pulse,” quipped Prince Lorenzo.

Why am I not surprised....................wonder if the others will have a chance to get their letters?

...............All housemates must be on the sofas ready to watch ‘BBTV News’. In order to pass the task Julie must read every single news item that appears on the screen in front of her............

So Julie is given what to say in the news cast by BB, not anything she wants. So if BB wanted to set the cat among the pigeons with a news item, then they could?

I wonder if she was chosen as newsreader by chance? It'll be interesting to see. As someone on another thread pointed out, she has ended up as one of the 'chosen' on all major tasks.

Was there ever any doubt that she would get her letter?

Well she should have gotten her letter in the first place. BB was kinder than Ashley was.

I was just going to ask that question, you beat me to it :D I would like to know all the choices of the letters destroyed and those kept. Is there anywhere to find this out at all?

It's a ridiculous drama over a bloody letter anyway. How long are they in there? Less than three weeks. They've probably been on holiday for longer and managed to survive without a letter.

I agree they will all get them, to me the fact BB gave Julie hers early suggests they expect her to go tomorrow so allowed her her letter first.

Yes & probably saw how upset she was by being stabbed in the back by those who she thought she was close to & the utter hypocrisy of them...

Not to mention the hefty dosh packet they're getting for such a short period of time. They're getting paid a fortune for a free holiday, if you ask me. And cry crocodile tears over a poxy letter after a few weeks, like you said. Bloody incomprehensible.

It's not that now is very important, but for next seasons, when you put the thing that happened right ahead of spoiler in the thread name, it doesnt work, we still get the spoiler, even if we dont want to.

But, but, but ...... hang on a mo, Joey, you know it's ok if the others do Judas hugs :nono: ;) It's only when Julie hugs that it is seen as bad ;) Also as pointed out by Jet I believe it was, although it is said age should not matter in CBB, Julie has been called all the 'old' ******** under the sun on forums/in posts and such, and much more potty fingered, than Julie's so called potty mouth.

Wind your necks in, as I predicted the others all got their letters this evening...

@BBUKLive 10:47pm: It's the rest of the letters from home. Coleen is reading Lorenzo's. #cbb

She has had special treatment though, hasnt she? In every task she's had a 'top' role and never one that's meant she's had to do anything unpleasant, she's always been judge or newsreader or goddess etc. Strange that.

Nothing unpleasent? She had to read conversations that have been said about her. If that isn't unpleasent...

Julie's not been backstabbed by anyone. She's been caught out being two-faced and her housemates understandably no longer trust her. In terms of challenging her to her face, who in the media spotlight would be daft enough to have an all-out argument with a 70yr old lady? If you hold back, she's vicious enough to cut you down, and if you win, she merely has to cry to make you the person who made 70yr old Bett Lynch cry. And she'd be able to as it's her profession. Lose-Lose. She makes their distrust worse by continuing this facade. For example, everyone knows she hates Colleen, yet after reading out Colleen's rant about her, she came out doing that ridiculous jig and started rubbing Colleen's face, kissing her and offering her some snout (which I pray was not a sexual reference!). It just makes her look more insincere.
