I wonder if this was Racial?
Her father, found slumped in the front of the car,
was named as Saad Al-Hilli, 50, from Claygate, Surrey.
He was born in Baghdad, Iraq.

Three of four victims of a shooting in a car in the French Alps were shot in the head, a French prosecutor has said.
One man, named by news agencies as Saad al-Hilli, from Surrey, an elderly woman and a French cyclist were shot in the head. Post-mortem examinations are being carried out.
A British cyclist, an ex-RAF officer, discovered the scene near Lake Annecy.
A second woman was also killed. A girl, four, hid in the car for eight hours before being found by police.
Annecy prosecutor Eric Maillaud said they were not looking for any more survivors.
"It was clearly an act of extreme savagery and it was obvious that who did this wanted to kill," he said.
The motive for the attack remains a mystery, he added.
Another girl, found shot outside the car, has been transferred to a hospital in the city of Grenoble where she has been placed in a medially-induced coma.
The girl - thought to be seven or eight years old - was shot three times, including in the shoulder, and had head fractures. "She suffered a violent attack," Mr Maillaud said.

The brother of Alps shooting victim Saad al-Hilli has told UK police there was no dispute over "financial matters", French prosecutors have said.
Prosecutor Eric Maillaud said French officers would interview Mr al-Hilli's brother in the UK as a "witness".
He formally confirmed Mr al-Hilli and his wife were among four people fatally shot near Lake Annecy on Wednesday.
And he said the British cyclist who reported the crime had seen a dark four-wheel drive vehicle heading away.
The prosecutor said four-year-old Zeena al-Hilli had told French police about the shooting that killed her mother and father during their holiday in the Alps.
Speaking to a press conference on Friday, Mr Maillaud said the brother of Iraqi-born Mr al-Hilli, 50, went to the police after he heard media reports of the deaths - first to ask about al-Hilli's condition, and then, on Friday, to deny reports of a dispute with his brother.
However, he said Mr al-Hilli's brother had not yet been formally questioned. Police were still in the process of gathering information about Mr al-Hilli, the prosecutor added.
The final confirmation of the victims' names came from the al-Hilli's four-year-old daughter. When police officers asked her what she could remember, she told them she had been in the car "with Mummy and Daddy".
Autopsies have been completed on those who died, the police have said, and the manner of death was the same for all: multiple gunshot wounds, each had at least one bullet wound to the head.
But police remain in the dark about who may have carried out the killings.
Four-year-old Zeena doesn't seem to have seen anything significant, and investigators are now pinning their hopes on her older sister, Zainab.
Just seven years old, she sustained serious injuries in the attack, and is in a medically induced coma.
Doctors don't know when she will be well enough to be questioned, but she is the only witness to a crime police are desperate to solve.
Until they do, a person, or persons, capable of committing what the police say was extreme violence, remains at liberty.
On Friday, French police said they had heard possible reports of a family dispute about money.
Where had they heard them? And what were these "possible reports"?
Were they just gossip, rumour and speculation?

Yes Sticks

It seems unlikely to me that the cyclist was the target. They could have just shot him when the family was not there though, like when he'd cycled a bit further or something.

If that was true
the Police should say so.

Only one gun was used in the attack on a British man shot dead with his wife, mother-in-law and a cyclist in the French Alps, police in France say.
Officials told reporters in Annecy that ballistics tests found 25 spent cartridges left at the scene came from a 7.65mm calibre semi-automatic pistol.
