...another series that started out decently has been destroyed little by little as it has progressed, leaving us with a piss poor final.
I've not been on here much recently because of family issues etc but have watched most with a half interested attitude. Jasmine going was appalling, Danica disastrous and Julie unforgivable. Especially when you consider whom these housemates were evicted in favour of - Rhian over Jasmine? Are you serious? Coleen over Danica? A joke. Martin over Julie? Ludicrous.
Honestly, I seriously think something needs to be addressed next year with regards to the nomination/eviction prices. It seriously can't go on like this, series after series (especially those with great potential) little by little being deconstructed for the sake of some of the dullest housemates of all time. Introducing vote to save was supposed to prevent this from happening, and it did for a while (Aaron and the twins a perfect example), but BB13 onwards it seems those who ensured every big character left early in the C4 days under vote to evict have returned to create the same problem here. BB13 peaked early due to the housemates that offered the most leaving in the first six or seven weeks, this series started off fantastically with Jasmine, peaked with Danica and has been carried this last week by Julie. We're now left with some very undeserving finalists once again - only The Situation could really be seen as a worthy winner, Julian a close second. Martin has actually done nothing. Harvey the same, and Ashley. Coleen? Well if it wasn't for Julie she'd have had no airtime either.
Very disappointing.

it would help if they scrapped noms and just had the whole house up with vote to save
but getting rid of noms kinds of ****s all over the whole idea of big brother anyway

making this thread every series really makes a difference

I think an X Factor type format would work, but I too wouldn't want to see an end to the nominations process. I've suggest it before but I genuinely think now is the time where it needs to be implemented for real as a general must each series, at least one week (possibly two) a series where everyone is up regardless, and make them doubles so we can cull the dull. That's the only way the housemates who contribute nothing end up leaving.

You can also tell that characters like Jasmine and Cheryl leaving affected the ratings, as they dropped substantially after both left.

The nominations are a massive highlight on the show for me, but I would definitely love it if they cancelled them leading to the final week and put the whole house up, just so we can get rid of the sneaky little quiet dull housemates, creeping into the final.

I think every other week they should put everyone up who got at least 1 nom so there will be more to choose from..

Vote to save has helped a bit, the Prince staying over Cheryl for example

Its the freezing the lines! Once they get down to reopening the vote for two people, its vote to evict all over again. I'm certain its the reason Danica and Cheryl left. I struggle to believe the had the fewest votes when the night begun.
Vote to save could be brilliant, if there's more than three up each week.

I agree with you on this as well, the last 2 evictions have seen 2 people go when only 3 housemates were actually up for eviction each time.
As you say, once we head into the final week have them all up.
Also a really great opening post from Jack too, I agreed with all that too.

I think it would make a difference. HM's who are never up because they are never nominated are always painfully boring like Harvey and Ashley. Seriously who the hell would vote to save them?
Who is or isn't up for nomination needs to be taken out of the hands of the HM's much earlier.

Oh absolutely. I really love a good double eviction towards the end of the series, but to do it with just three housemates really takes the fun and uncertainty out of the process.
To have the whole house up and use a double would be really gripping tv.

Caroline didn't get the least votes, Luke S did.

Well, actually no. Caroline would have been saved if they didnt reopen the lines for her and Luke S. That's one of the stupid things they have to change.

Happened again I see. The termnally unhappy and disappointed viewers who have been crying and moaning since series 1. The pissing and moaning is only a little less predictable than the cries of rigging or bias when our favorites leave. Like clock work:hugesmile:

That's when the vote to evict rather than save makes a difference with the whole house up, although as regards Caroline, I didn't think she was entertaining, just nasty, so when she got evicted I thought well done public voters.
Well, actually no. Caroline would have been saved if they didnt reopen the lines for her and Luke S. That's one of the stupid things they have to change.
They are not going to change that though, especially when they can open and close or not even bother reopening at their own discrection to likely get the eviction they want, ie: the LukeS and Caroline one. The days of 'Who goes, you decide' are well and truely gone.

Agree with this the public should have more input in who is up for eviction at some point so we can get rid of some of the less noticed, boring people or conversely if the majority of the public like these people it would give them the chance to keep them in the house - rather than them sailing through by default.

She wouldn't have had it not been for the freezing of the lines. They need to stop doing that!
