http://www.metro.co.uk/news/910917-david-cameron-calls-burglars-cowards-after-judges-courage-claim
While sentencing Richard Rochford, Judge Peter Bowers told the 26-year-old: ‘It takes a huge amount of courage as far as I can see for somebody to burgle somebody’s house. I wouldn’t have the nerve.’
Handing Rochford a suspended 12-month term, Judge Bowers told him: ‘I’m going to take a chance on you.'
He claimed prison ‘rarely does anybody any good’ but acknowledged the trauma inflicted on the 26-year-old’s victims.
I despair of our justice system, I really do. Some judges seem to have their heads well and truly planted in the clouds and I find it quite scary that such idiots can have so much power :/

It does take bravery & courage tbh how do you figure? you have a very twisted definition of courage and bravery. It is absolutely COWARDLY to steal imo.
If they were BRAVE they would knock on the door and take it like a man, and give the person a chance to fightback and defend their own property.
It's COWARDLY to SNEAK around like RATS and steal when they think no one is looking.

My ex-best friend use to steal things all the time from houses & shops, I couldn't do that.. I'd be afraid of getting caught, so it is brave imo. The only thing I've ever stole is a bottle of coke.
It doesn't mean i agree with it fgs

I just think Brave is the wrong choice of word, Brave is usually associated with positive things

Judges show time and time again that a huge number of them are clueless about the lives of ordinary people and completely out of touch with the real world.

From that
"People sometimes say it is not a violent crime but, actually, if you've been burgled, you do feel it was violent, breaking into your home.
"That's why this government is actually changing the law to toughen the rules on self-defence towards burglars."
About bloody time. The 'reasonable force' rule should not apply when someone is trespassing on your property and stealing your stuff IMO. I hope they are scrapping that in the case of burglaries. Not that I would listen to it anyway if I discovered a burglar in my home, they deserve everything they get...if I get locked up for hurting them then so be it.

you are entitled to protect yourself as long as the force is proportionate to the threat as far as I can see..

Same judge
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/child-porn-pervert-judge-peter-1797453
The judge who told a burglar he was “brave” was under fire again yesterday for letting a paedophile walk free because he would “suffer” in jail.
Mark Martin, 24, was already on a suspended jail sentence for possessing child porn but Judge Peter Bowers ruled he should not be locked up after police found 48 more vile images on his phone.
Passing another suspended sentence, Judge Bowers said: “I think you would suffer very badly in prison and I don’t think, at the moment, it is necessary to send you there.
“I am going to give you another suspended sentence but you have to understand it is the very last chance you are going to get.”
Campaigners blasted the punishment as “remarkably short-sighted” and said that Martin should be behind bars...
This judge should be sacked.
What a load of bollocks. As if the justice system isnt soft enough without dicks like this deciding on punishments

Lets all hope this Judge is at home asleep in his bed and burglars break into his home violently attack him trash his house and take nearly everything of value.
Then he might realise he has a responsibility to protect ordinary hard working people from having their lives ruined by these criminals. Perhaps he might take his job a little more seriously instead of worrying about the rights of the Burglars.

Some judges are notoriously cosseted and out of touch and like every other area of life, they're the ones who get the attention. This one needs to be weeded out before stories like this colour everyone's judgement against the majority of legal professionals who actually do their best in the system in which they work.
