Danny Dyer has marked the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks by tweeting that the terrorists responsible for the attacks are "slags".
The British actor, known for his trademark portrayal of 'Cockney geezers', tweeted:
Can't believe it's been nearly 11 years since them slags smashed into the twin towers it still freaks my nut out to this day.
The tweet, which has since been deleted, has been met by shocked disbelief and mockery by the online community with one user, Ben Lawton, tweeting: "Has Danny Dyer really referred to the 9/11 suicide bombers as 'slags' on Twitter?"
User Nat Higton added: "Anniversary of 9/11. Or as Danny Dyer puts it 'when those slags flew that plane into the twin towers'. Lovely chap."
While many were shocked by the nature of the tweet, others simply mocked it, like user Declan Welsh: "I want Danny Dyer to go to the middle east and film a documentary entitled: 'Democracy; you ****ing love it you slags'."
Heartfelt.
