Non-British has to be given by the Caveman. Won Andy he's gold medal which in turn gave him the confidence to win the US Open. Also a Bronze Medallist himself

In all the events you mentioned there is only a handful of people that are actually world class while it the Golf circuit due to the weather , varying layout's for courses from day to day and the fact that there is at least 25-30 people good enough to win in any given day. Which makes Mcilroy's achievments even greater

Me and Shaun are TIBB's most knowledgeable Sports posters on the forum you would do well to listen to us, give me a year or so i could master Golf.. and finish in a decent position in a pretty well known Golf Tournament.. let's face it it's more of a hobby then a sport, even wrestlers work harder then Golfers

Rory Mcilroy is at a disadvantage because his USPGA win was only shown on Sky so a lot of people didn't see it. Though you could say it is a similar achievement to Andy Murray winning the US Open, though of course the fact that Britain hasn't won a tennis Grand Slam title for ages makes a difference.
