"Angry protests have continued in China on the 81st anniversary of the Japanese invasion.
Tensions have reached a new high between the countries over the disputed ownership of islands in the East China Sea.
Activists based in Hong Kong had hoped to use the anniversary to sail to the islands to try to re-claim them for China.
They landed there a month ago, successfully planting the Chinese flag before being arrested and deported by Japanese coastguards."

Its a Dead Island with a Secret (under it)
China wants Japan away their land.

It depends what Japan
has found under the Island
They want to keep it now.

But China is Bigger and could blow Japan away.

It belongs to China.

The islands have been administered by Japan for decades and have never been China's, they only started being bothered about it when it turned out their could be oil there

I don't think it was, Japan formally took control of them in the 1890's, and have presided over them since apart from when the US occupied them after the war

Yes well China is going to fight for their Oil.
Even if it means attacking the island in a covert way.

In WW2 Japan invaded China
and beat them bad

So its bad blood

Japan purchased the islands from a Japanese family....

Amazing coincedence that suddenly China starts screaming about territorial rights now, when there may be a commodity to greatly benefit from. They weren't bothering their jacksies over the last few decades as to ownership.......

Tokyo insisted it had only peaceful intentions in making the 2.05 billion yen (16.3 million pounds) purchase of three uninhabited islands in the East China Sea, until now leased by the government from a Japanese family that has owned them since early 1970s.

Kinda like having a kid that you wanted nothing to do with for years....... let someone else look after them and take care of for years without giving a damn: then suddenly when said kid wins the lottery and is worth a fortune: suddenly they are right in there, declaring an interest.

it seems to me China has become a much more outward looking country, and is becoming drunk on its new found status as a world superpower. It's probably not for the best either.
