No, except for small talk... don't see why I should want to talk to strangers about how I am and how they are and how the weather is. I work at a grocery store and I just reply "yeah" to everything customers say because idfk them and I don't care to.

um hum. Superman saved us this time and managed to break the meteor that was heading our way, next time...we might not be so lucky. Isn't earth abput due for a wipeout anyway? Something significant has always happened every 2 thousand years.

I wouldn't say I was. I cope well with any situation usually and rarely find myself in difficulty.
Some people and situations where I may find I am uncomfortable in, then I would rather, than maybe get too involved in it or say the wrong thing,I would just excuse myself and leave it or not comment at all.

Not in the right job I'm thinking!
I think feeling socially awkward is something most people might feel especially when they're growing up - there's always some sort social situations that make everyone feel that bit out of their comfort zone even older adults. Very few are at ease in all situs.
I do think that this type of thing that we are all doing right now: not 'socialising' but using the internet to communicate instead of physical interraction, is a major cause in the increase of those who feel socially awkward ...... lots of social skills being lost through people sitting alone and tapping on keyboards, rather than actually getting out and integrating.

No, I just laugh off stuff.
However tv shows do make me awkward, but they don't care

Most definitely.
I'm very shy and awkward around new people, it took me 3 weeks to even talk to somebody new at College this year and in my Travel & Tourism class I still talk to none of them, they aren't my sort of people, I'm a proper outcast.

Not really. I'm quite quiet in most social situations unless I'm with my friends, but I know the soical norms and everything.
A bit yeah, not as bad as I used to be though, I can make conversation with people I don't know easily enough, although I do sort of have to be forced into talking with them, I wouldn't start up a conversation with a stranger just randomly

I can talk to anyone, on many levels my daughter thinks its really funny as she avoids some who she sees as rough or common (she is such a snob haha).
I don't socialise outside my group much though, I have my set of friends that hasen't changed for years.

yes, I have aspergers and find it hard relating to people and I can't do small talk . I'm better than I used to be at it though

It totally depends on the situation...If its to do with work I'm totally fine as I Know what I am talking about. Not quite so confident in social situation where I don't know anyone unless I have had a few drinks.
Worse thing I have encountered lately is taking my toddler to play group....mums are so bitchy and cliquey

Hmm.. well, breath in through your nose and out through your mouth and practice your smile in the mirror, nothing too cheesy just a nice friendly smile. Don't fidget, sit or lean on a wall for support if you have to.
Practice by politely asking girls for the time?

I can socialise and schmooze as part of my job demands it, I don't enjoy it though. I am not socially awkward, but I am a bit anti-social which isn't the same thing at all.

I'm sure everybody on here is a tad socially awkward haha. I would say I am, if I am amongst a big group of a people at a social occasion I tend to be quiet. Although I do try to be as civil as I can.

I've been called a snob, but I'm really not,I just dont suffer fools gladly and like Livia i do tend to be a bit anti social, some people really annoy me so would rather stay away from them, but I adore my friends and just 'click' with some people.

Yes I am quite.
I went out to a social event yesterday, there was me and my partner and 14 other people, most of whom I didn't know. We were together for this event for about 7 hours and I barely said a word to any of them.
I find I just don't know what to say to people.

Yes totally but i compensate for it by being a twat.
Anybody that knows me knows otherwise though im only a twat to people that fail to show respct to other peoples opinions.

Yes I hate talking to new people and things like that because I always screw it up and do the wrong thing and it just makes me want to quietly lock myself in a toilet and drink some bleach.
