Girls Aloud reunite for Strictly Come Dancing
Countdown clock on band's website suggests Cheryl Cole and co will get together for 10th anniversary.

Girls Aloud appear to have announced they are getting back together. A clock on the band's website is counting down to 19 October, fuelling speculation that the band will appear together on that date on BBC1's Strictly Come Dancing.

Kimberley Walsh, arguably the least celebrated member of the group, is currently a contestant on the show.

Rumours that the five-piece outfit are reuniting were stoked by the appearance at Cheryl Cole's recent solo show at London's O2 arena of three other members: Walsh, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle.

It was the first time that Coyle had been pictured with any of her bandmates in public since they went on a break in 2009. Sarah Harding was the only member of the group absent from Cole's gig, with reports that she was busy in the studio working on her own solo LP.

The Mirror reported last week that the band have already filmed a video for a comeback single. A source told the paper: "The girls recorded tracks with their long-time collaborators Xenomania as early as May this year.

"Some of them recorded their vocals separately, so they didn't actually see each other that much during the process."

It is understood that the band will reveal more of their plans on 19 October.

The band formed in 2002 as contestants on Popstars: The Rivals and would be celebrating their 10th anniversary. The band have released five albums and scored four No 1 hit singles in the UK.

They're all nothing without each other, they are a five piece and they all worked their way there, say what you like about Cheryl but she's just as important in Girls Aloud as the rest of them.


Having said that though, there are now rumours that they're only reuniting to flog a Greatest Hits and that'll be all. Others reckon they're doing Children In Need and will be releasing on the 19th of October, which is exactly ten years since the very first Popstars: The Rivals live show featuring the girls. Intriguing!
