UK tax: Coffee chain faces boycott
as it avoids big bills by declaring loss after loss
Since coming to the UK in 1998, the coffee group
has opened 735 outlets
Taken more than £3billion in sales
but paid just £8.6million in corporation tax
In the last three years it's
paid no UK tax at all despite £1.2billion in sales

Yeah quite a few well known companies are the same. Shame the government is concentrating on penalising people for daring to be out of work, instead of focusing on closing up these tax loopholes tbh...

Yep how dare the tory dickheads slate tradesmen for doing the odd 'off the books jobs' and label them immoral for evading tax!
I'm not surprised in the slightest, they will use some ****ty excuse that they are big employers and try to wriggle out of it.
Cafe culture? foff.

It is something that should be stopped completely, there should be no ways of avoiding paying any taxes and since its the Coalition that is in at present then they should act and act fast.
In other words Starbucks hasn't paid a thing as to the tax involved since this Coalition came to power.
What an oversight and what a disgrace.

Yes Starbucks Coffee Bean comes from Switzerland
The use of the name Starbucks is from Amsterdam.
So its like what Boots do.
"Kris Engskov told Sky News
the company had no plans to
change its arrangements despite
sales of £1.2bn in the UK."
He also said they are not making profits.
So if that true - Close half of the branches down - I say.

This. I heard somewhere that tax avoidance causes a loss about ten times that of benefit fraud. It's ridiculous! :bored:
