What I don't get is the adoration of Ricky Gervais on this thread, and the absolute screaming hatred of Frankie Boyle on another. On the Frankie Boyle thread people are moaning that he ridicules disabled people. Ricky Gervais freely uses the word 'mong' and is unapologetic. Frankie Boyle is branded a racist while Ricky Gervais gets a laugh out of the Holocaust. They're cut from the same cloth, so I don't understand how one is worse than the other.

I disagree with that. Yeah, Gervais might have a few questionable jokes but not the majority of his stuff imo and certainly not his TV shows. Not that I have a "screaming hatred" for Frankie Boyle anyway, I find him unfunny and the majority of stuff seems to be tasteless drivel.

From a personal point of view I found Gervais's Holocaust jokes extremely tasteless. I suppose it depends on your point of view what's funny and what's not. There is no right answer.
