After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he's become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow - a vigilante to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be - flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle - while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel's father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver's own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.

I have been watching US pace and have watched the 2nd episode. It gets better after the pilot. I am hooked completely.

Also, nice to see a change on an actor who is so humble and actually interracts with fans. Stephen Amell constantly writes on his Facebook page/Twitter (no managers) and he always makes videos for the people on Facebook, whether its about the show or him doing something goofy like playing with his dog. He actually replies on status' to peoples comments. Very nice guy and deserves all the success.

The show is brilliant I think and it has so far (first 2 episodes) been catapulted as the #1 show on the CW and highest ratings in 3 years for the channel. Hope it does well here!!

US cable ratings for the CW so far have been 4.1m and 3.6m. The nearest rival is The Vampire Diaries which gets around 2.1m-2.3m.

http://www.tvwise.co.uk/2012/10/the-cw-hands-full-season-to-arrow/

The CW has handed a full season order to break out hit Arrow. The order, which brings the show’s first season to a total of 22 episodes, had been expected for some time.

Arrow has the distinction of being the network’s highest rated original scripted series currently on the air. The show’s premiere episode pulled in 4.0 million total viewers and a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demo in live+same day, the highest ratings of any series premiere on the network in more than three years. Furthermore, Arrow managed a rare feat this fall season: maintaining its audience. The show’s second episode was steady in the demo, pulling in 3.6 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demo in live+same day.

“Our strategy of rolling out our new fall schedule later in the year really paid off for the CW on several levels, especially with Arrow, which was the network’s most watched premiere in three years and is one of the breakout hits of the new season,” said Mark Pedowitz, President of The CW. “I’m proud of the quality of Arrow and I’m happy we’ll be able to share more of it with viewers.”

Possibly appearances and on press junkets, but maybe not in their own time (Facebook). He was doing it long, long before Arrow when he has only like 200 people that liked his Facebook page, and he still does and uploads videos answering questions or just in his everyday life. I'm not positive but I don't think people are specifically paid to reply to people individually which they both do. But they ARE paid to go talk to people face to face.

Whether they pay people for making videos for fans, not many people on TV, Film or singers do that. So fair play.

This has gotten amazing recently, probably my favorite show on TV now after the past 3 or 4 episodes, there are so many small stories within the main story that are keeping it interesting

- The Island Storyline with Oliver and Slade Wilson, Edward Fyers and Yao Fei is really interesting
- The Introduction of Red Arrow
- the whole twist about Sarah being alive
- The Triad, The Count, Deadshot, Malcolm Merlyn, Helena = All amazing Villains
- The background on Diggle's brother seems really interesting as well ( Hopefully they do a flashback on him soon and how Deadshot killed him )

And now that Felicity and Tommy now that Oliver is Arrow it has moved the show on so much in such a short amount of time

I never really fancied this, until you started this thread. I downloaded the 17 episodes, and got through them mostly over the weekend.

It's perfectly watchable, but not great. Every episode is a bit samey, but then most shows have a formula they stick to. The bigger stories are definitely interesting, and finding out about his transformation is really starting to develop.

Think the bad guys need to start hiring goons who can actually aim firearms though, as the amount of bullets sprayed in his direction versus hits made is a slightly silly aspect of the show.

[TV] Manu Bennett Promoted to Series Regular on Arrow
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 03.20.2013

We'll be seeing more of Slade Wilson this fall...

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Manu Bennett has been promoted to a series regular for the second season of the Arrow TV series on the CW. Bennett now joins Colton Haynes, who plays Roy Harper, and Emily Bett Rickards, who plays Felicity Smoak, as series regulars for the next season.

Bennett portrays Slade Wilson, an ally to Oliver Queen when he was stranded on the island. In the comics, Slade is also known as the supervillain Deathstroke.

The new season of Arrow will air this fall. The show starring Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen airs on Wednesdays at 8PM ET/PT on the CW

I thought it was one of the best episodes of the series. I still really have issues with the use of guns:

When he crashes the casino, and all the baddies are just spraying machine gun bullets across the whole casino instead of aiming at him

I'm glad he's found out what he has, and it's certainly set up for a good finale to the series. Definitely worth tuning in for series 2.

Just watched tonight's Episode and it was Amazing, sets up the Finale next week perfectly

Felicity, Diggle and Oliver breaking into Merlyn's HQ was probably my favourite scene off the entire series so far, the Island flashback scenes were done really well and made Fyers into an even more legit amazing villain then he already he is.. especially after killing Yao Fei just all off a sudden. not really bothered about the Laurel/Tommy/Oliver stuff, it just goes back and forth so much but anything involving Felicy, Diggle and Oliver together is usually great. Oh yeah and Walter showing Moira the divorce papers was a great scene as well, she is the most annoying character on the show by far.

09-05-2013, 08:02 AM
Felicity is probably the best character on the show. I agree it was a good episode, especially the ending.

Good to see the island stuff starting to wrap itself up as well. The Aussie soldier is supposed to be appearing as a bad guy next season, so I think he'll just escape with the daughter and have to leave him behind.

Will be good to see what happens in the finale. Killing his father isn't going to be good for Tommy and Olivers relationship. But then neither is walking to your ex's apartment to make up with her, and seeing her riding your best friend through the window!

It's a series that has gotten better as it's gone along. It does have a few problems though, the story is miniscule as is Ollie's character, it feels like all he does is speak in a deep voice and engage in numerous shirtless training sequences. Also Tommy's character is really annoying and his story arc is really obvious, he's going to end up taking on his father's mantle, hurry up and kill him off please.

Felicity is a great character though and both Laurel and Roy's characters have a lot of potential since in the comics....

They end up becoming Black Canary and Red Arrow respectively.

The island stuff is really strong as well and Slade's an interesting character.

Novo
15-05-2013, 03:40 PM
Yeah i agree, there was a point midway in the series where nothing was really happening and then Walter got kidnapped and it just started getting more interesting.

the guy who plays Fyers is amazing in that role as well I think Him and Oliver become Allies in the Comics after a while even though Fyers is still pretty much corrupted they seem to have an understanding so it will be interesting to see how they'll change Fyer's character and when he turn up in Starling

Novo
16-05-2013, 02:22 PM
YES!! they killed off Tommy, the final was okay although there were to many soft cheesy moments and not enough action scenes and it felt a bit rushed, they could have spread the events of that episode over 2 episodes instead of cramming it into one

Just yesterday, it seems we were wondering when Season 2 will begin… The CW has now announced that the 2013-2014 season, for them, will begin in October 2013. It’s a long wait, and we’ll let you know if anything changes, but there you go. An actual date announcement will come very late in June or early in July.

Wildcat!

Just watched the finale. I really liked the finale. It was a bit cheesy at times, but pretty good. Oliver's mother's confession was shocking. Ironically, She ends up taking the fall for everyone that "failed the city"! LOL. I was hoping Slade would show up in present time, but oh well,, till next season.

Jesus.
16-05-2013, 03:24 PM
It was a good episode, but Novo was right about it being too crammed. Thinking back to some of those filler episodes, they could have easily got rid of a couple of those and really built the finale up properly.

Will be interesting to see where they take this next season.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/thumbnail_570x321/2013/07/glau-isabel.jpg

Firefly and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star Summer Glau has booked a recurring role on The CW's breakout action drama toplined by Stephen Amell, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Glau will play the "enigmatically beautiful" and "dangerous" Isabel Rochev, vp acquisitions at Stellmoor International, a company looking to take over Queen Consolidated. She will first appear in the premiere.

On Arrow, not much is known of Isabel, except as part of a list of names in Robert Queen's book of corrupt and powerful people in Starling City. (In the DC Comics universe, the villainous Isabel — who appears in several Green Arrow issues — rose from being a slave to running Queen Industries, with the desire to return the company back to its former glory.)
Arrow — which began production earlier this week — has already introduced a slew of DC Comics characters, including Deadshot (Michael Rowe), China White (Kelly Hu), Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) and Deathstroke/Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett), and often taps genre favorites like Seth Gabel (Fringe) and Tahmoh Penikett (Battlestar Galactica) to fill roles.

Such a great launch ! Ep 1 spoilers
I loved it, I love Oliver, Digg & Felicity, and they're amaze. I also love Oliver & the two guys from 5 years ago on the island. My 6 fave characters with the addition of Roy Harper. Thea still annoys me, but ah well. Yeah I really liked the episode and all the action!

Arrow's ratings increased from the season premiere
Most watched episode since April

Novo
18-10-2013, 07:23 PM
Last night’s episode of Arrow was up in total viewers and all key demos from last week’s season premiere, rising 22% in adults aged (1.1/3), up 13% in adults 18-34 (0.9/3), gaining 13% with women 18-34 (0.9/3) and increasing 10% in total viewers (3.02M), according to TV By the Numbers. It was the highest-rated show in its timeslot outside of the big four networks.
It was Arrow‘s most watched episode since April, its best 18-49 rating since February, its best 18-34 rating since May and its best performance among women in key demographics since December 2012/January 2013.
This comes less than a week after it was discovered that the season premiere of Arrow saw huge increases in Live + 3 Day delayed viewing versus Live + Same Day ratings. In total viewers, Arrow saw a 34% gain over L+SD viewing, gaining nearly a million viewers, while in adults 18-49, the series grew 41% and in adults 18-34 it increased 27%. The delayed viewing was up considerably from last season’s premiere, when Arrow gained just 16% in total viewers when L+3 viewing was added. It’s also in line with the kind of significant increases we’re seeing from Live +3 and Live +7 numbers on the fanboy-centric Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC, which was up in 18-34 demographics this week but down in overall viewers, according to overnight ratings estimates released yesterday.

Amazing news how it was the highest rated show outside the Big 4 and deserved as well

what an amazing opening episode to Season 2

The opening scene with Felicity and Diggs landing on the Island was so unexpected but done so well, also forgot all about the prospect of Moira being in prison.. the new black pirates on the island could be a good addiction as well especially if Fyers is still around to save the day.. Walter's return was great and then the Harper scene at the end and his encounter with Black Canary.

MeMyselfAndI
25-10-2013, 10:38 PM
it was amazing, and episode 2 is even better. Now episode 1 has aired...

I think that blonde vigilante girl is possibly Shadow from the island (It'd make sense, her having experienced the same as Oliver and wanting to bring down the same people?)
Does a certain actor play that girl that beat up all the bad guys & saved Roy

Novo
25-10-2013, 10:59 PM
Yeah it's not Shado i don't think, Black Canary is actually Laurel in the Comics and the Vigilante in the TV Show is Black Canary and Shado is a totally different person, i don't think her or Slade will make it off the Island alive

MeMyselfAndI
25-10-2013, 11:06 PM
Oh, I really like Slade & Shadow :(
I hope the flashbacks continue for another season with both of them still alive at least, I don't think Shadow has long then, as shes not a series regular like Slade is

Novo
25-10-2013, 11:08 PM
Fyers is really important in the Comics and he becomes friends with Oliver and attends his wedding but it looks like he has been killed off now so i don't think they are following the Comic storylines that much so they might survive, i think i prefer them going down there own route in the TV Show because everything is a lot less predictable

Tom4784
25-10-2013, 11:25 PM
I don't think Laurel is Black Canary but I think she's working with her in some way. I can see this Canary dying at some point and Laurel will end up taking the Mantle.

Shadow is probably going to die but I don't think Slade will, I think the people attacking them on the island are from the same regiment as him and he'll end up falling out with Oliver and leaving him on the Island I think.

Yep, It's definitely her it was revealed in episode 4, she returned after the explosion worrying about her family. It all makes sense as shes always popped up around Laurel & when shes in possible danger. She was stuck on the island also with Oliver & Oliver and her met up on there, he was lieing to her family that she died on the ship

I'm a bit disappointed with the Canary reveal, it would have been better if Oli didn't meet her on the Island as I struggled to suspend my belief that he wouldn't anyone about it.

I'm quite disappointed that I didn't see the Blood twist coming, I should have known he was Brother Blood.

Apparently Steve R. McQueen (Jeremy in Vampire Diaries) is rumoured to be playing Nightwing in Arrow which is interesting as Nightwing is rumoured to appear in the Batman Vs Superman film. It means either that the Arrow universe is separate from the films, which I'll be surprised if that's true since Warner Bros desperately want to create a full DC universe for the screen like Marvel has with their films, or it means that McQueen will be playing Dick Grayson in BvsS.

He definitely has the look of Nightwing but he can't act for **** so I'm not sure which one to believe if it's true.

I have a feeling that the stupidity of the electricity man plot is going to be the last straw for me.

It's getting worse. The woman who killed loads of the city last season is now running for Mayor? She should be in prison.

More superhero assassins on a weekly basis, and it doesn't actually seem like Arrow tries to clean up the city any more, he just indulges in more sweaty training montages.

The drop in quality is more noticeable by the week. Really needs to improve.

Oscar worthy episode by Susanna Thompson, even though I hate her character I don't think there are many people who could play that role, the best episode since the Show started IMO, the whole Roy stuff was done well and then the Shocking Moira death scene and the way it was played out, something like that was needed to make Slade look even more sadistic and now I'm really interested in knowing what Moira was going to say about Malcolm before Slade ambushed them

Novo
24-04-2014, 05:14 AM
Oh yeah and I forgot to include the flashbacks were amazing and the other twist of Oliver sleeping with some girl when he was with Laurel and getting her pregnant and now being a father and not knowing because Moira paid the girl 2,000,000 to say she lost the kid and now Moira is dead.. Won't be long before the girl turns up though, its amazing how much of a scumbag Oliver was back in the day :joker: makes a change from all the perfectly brought up and honourable superheroes

Cant see where they are going with this, for sure Slade has to be killed off at the end of the season, I cant see him surviving now in the present. Think he will be finally killed or be cured and then he will only be seen in flashbacks of the Island in season 3.

Arrow Season 2 final episodes will have Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) returning to Starling City and here is the reason why -- He wants his daughter Thea back.

"All hell is going to break loose in the city, and Thea will find herself in a precarious predicament - and Thea is going to be saved by her father," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teases about the upcoming episode. "He is going to offer her what she doesn't have anymore."

"That was part of our math with killing Moira," says Kreisberg. "If we were going to send Thea in that direction, there couldn't be anything that was pulling her back here. Now she has a brother who lied to her and has done something unforgivable and no mother. On the flipside, she has Malcolm Merlyn saying, 'I will never lie to you, Thea.'"

Malcolm won't be the only former member of the League of Assassins to return in the season finale. In fact, Sara is returning to town with Nyssa al Ghul and the League in tow, according to TV Guide.

"Sara went to go get help because when you're fighting an army, you need an army," Kreisberg says. "She goes and gets Nyssa and she comes back with the League. It's the Arrow, Canary, Roy Colton Haynes and the League of Assassins versus Slade and his Mirakuru army for the city."

Also, Arrow's showrunner Marc Guggenheim teased fans with the final dialogue from season 2 finale

Arrow producers announced at Comic-Con that the League of Assassins leader Ra's al Ghul would be coming to Season 3.

Ever since the announcement there are reports making rounds about who will play the part in CW's Arrow, and whether they will live up to Liam Neeson's portrayal of Ra's al Ghul delivered in Batman Begins.

In a recent interview with MTV, Liam Neeson said that he wouldn't hesitate to perform the iconic villain one more time.

The Taken star said, "No, I haven't [been asked], I haven't at all. I would [do it], in a heartbeat, if it came my way, yeah. Very much so."

yeah if sara is actually dead it would make sense for laurel to take over, hopefully something happens, like in a fight with ra's gets her throat slit that destroys her voicebox and then flashy flash gives her some kind of enhacement like the canary is supposed to have. or maybe sara lives and this 'fall' so to speak starts off her super powers. as good as arrow is, it's seriously lacking any real super powers for a DC show. I think they are trying to keep it as realistic and Modern as possible without going overboard on the whole Superpower stuff like Nolan's Batman films, Komodo is in the next episode, a lot of people seem to think its Al Ghul in the trailer but the guy is black, the guy playing Al Ghul is white
