I used to be into more charty stuff, then got really in to dubstep, then at quite heavy rock stuff and then this year I have feel in love with indie rock, which I can't see changing in a hurry  If your music taste has changed, how and why?

not necessarily changed, but definitely developed. I used to listen mainly to pop-rockish bands and pretty much anything Kerrang would shove in your face, but now I listen to much, much, much more. I'm an eclectic weirdo now.

Went from being a kid just listening to all the pop crap my sister liked from smash hits and stuff, to when I went to high school blink 182, yellowcard, NFG, etc, then I had a metal stage when I was 15-16-17, then I went into punk, then I've sort of now mellowed and listen to lots of stuff but like Blink etc the most again

I used to like only listen to pop and chart stuff, then listened to a lot of rock, my friends at the time were all into it. And now I don't listen to any specific genre, but I guess it's mostly indie or alternative stuff, electropop and folk, well my itunes has those labels for the music I have.
Anyway I tend to get fixated with a few albums (or artists) at a time and will listened to just them for a few months.

I think your musical tastes can change for a lot of reasons. For instance, your environment, age, your social lifestyle, current trends and influences in the media etc. I have had many different musical tastes throughout my life through punk, ska/two tone, new wave, goth/industrial, house/dance, indie etc. Each reflects a different time in my life and particular lifestyle which I led. Now I just appreciate them all.

went from pop to rock to post hardcore to pop again and now mainly electronic and dub. All part of growing up in different stages.
I have become quite partial to country and western in my old years

It hasn't really. I'm pretty narrow minded when it comes to music in terms of what I like:laugh:, but I usually always at least tried to listen everything except for Rock stuff. Most change I had really was probably only liking Underground U.K stuff like old school Dizzee,Wiley & Meridian and only really liking people like 50 Cent and Eminem from the U.S when I was 12-14ish to then staring to like more U.S **** like Pac,Biggie,Rakim,Jay etc and recently getting into softer music like Chris Brown,Weekned etc.

I tend toward a a collection I've depended on for years and mix in some new stuff from time to time, all genres, but how it's all changed is that I prefer to listen to what others have on their plates and find myself quite enjoying loads of music from all over. Much more fun and eye/ear opening. Loving it.
i reached the pinnacle of music when i was 16, by discovering the rolling stones, the doors, led zeppelin and david bowie, so if i get into anything else i'll be going backwards,
i'll be listning to these until my dying day because they will never become dated and every generation of people will keep bringing them back.

Didn't really focus on any specific genre until 2010, was a pretty casual music listener.
Since, 90% of what I listen to is hip hop.
All because of a Kanye forum tbh.

I used to be a huge Good Charlotte and Korn stan
but hip hop was always my chosen genre, used to listen to more chart stuff though now I mostly listen to weird or underground hip hop

I don't think it really has that much, when I was younger I loved the Spice Girls, now I love Take That. I still love pop music and cheesy stuff and musicals.
I once thought Lady Gaga was alright

I liked her most at her Bad Romance peak
Used to be obsessed with pop/rock when I was younger, then I had a phase of being obsessed with classical, then I went to pop/rock again, then that eventually turned into the music taste I've had for years now of indie/alternative/singer-songwriter stuff with a bit of a mix of pop/rock/electronic

I used to only listen to the stuff in the charts really but I've stopped doing that. Most of the music I listen to is vaguely trip-hop-ish or electronic in general now, though I do like all sorts of music.

As a little kid was mostly chart stuff but liked some random artists like Bob Marley, Meatloaf and Roy Orbison. In the early 00's I was a mosher as we called them. Slipknot, The Offspring, SOAD and bands like that. Around 2005 I became a proper Indie Kid when I started getting into Oasis and all them. Now it's basically a mix of Rock and Indie that I like.

I used to be a real music snob. Into hard heavy music that no one else listened to. Then I started studying music, playing the guitar and singing a few years ago and now I can listen to anything and appreciate the skill involved.
Brit-pop was the in thing when I was at school, so EVERYBODY was into either Oasis or Blur or The Charlatans etc etc.. I hated the whole thing and got into Queen, Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Free, Lynyrd Skynyrd etc. I still love the same music but do listen to lots of different music now.
I freed my mind and the rest followed

I still to listen to a lot of pop, in fact I listen to that more than anything else, purely because it's easy to listen to and I'm always in the mood for it, but lately I've been finding more artists in loads of genres for when I feel like listening to something different. It's not changed that much, just I like a lot more artists and appreciate less "normal" genres such as experimental and stuff like that.
