I want to get my mobile unlocked (currently on vodafone) as I have a giff gaff Sim I want to use instead?

Any recommendations for getting it done as cheaply as possible, and preferably done on the same day (can't be without my phone!!)?

Theres loads of places that do it round here, just find a used phone shop and they will do it on the spot.

I dunno if cash converters do it or not. Is there anywhere near you that buys second hand phones and sells them...like they are usually tiny shops or market stalls...

Think there is one on the market, I'll nip over and see how much they would charge me.

Thanks Vicky.

Hi kate, someone gave me a giffgaff sim are they really good?

well you get 250 minutes, free giffgaff to giffgaff calls and unlimited internet for a tenner a month, plus calls to other networks are considerably cheaper, whereas atm I am with vodafone, don't get any free calls, and just 500MB internet access for topping up a tenner a month. So I think it's a good deal, seeing as I hammer the net on my phone :D

Is it better than 3 ?

it's pretty similar to 3, they seem to be a good network.

Got it done now, thanks for all help and suggestions esp Vicky. Cost a tenner as predicted. Happy days.

Ha ha strangely enough I was in Cash Converters today looking over a Samsung phone I liked which unfortunately was on Vodaphone and I'm on Orange so was thinking of leaving it since I don't know what it was cost to have it unlocked ? I may go back and ask them now since it was only £25 for a phone that they want £70 + you have to top up by £10 to buy it from Orange shop that can go do one at that price pffftt
