View Full Version : Life without technology

I have this crazy notion that the world ending won't come from a natural disaster or man-made bomb etc, but instead it will occur through a technological meltdown and computers gaining a massive incurable virus that will stop them from working world wide.

How do you reckon the world and yourself would cope if the whole of technology just stopped working?

Eighth day prophecy?
I think it would be wonderful! No nuclear threat, real jobs, real conversation and live music.
The downside would be losing lifesaving mecical technology though.

I'd have to go outside and talk to real life people D:

I would be part of the Team
that create a New "Virus Free" System
without Microsoft.

Microsoft would be blamed

technology is literally a component in basically all major suppliers of our resources.

Therefore we would all die.

Well most jobs require technology... Touch screen registers and all that.

I would feel a lot better, not getting distracted and getting work done would be nice.

It would be awful, everyone would be like "yay let's all go outside now" but then you'd get home there's no lights, there's no heating, you can't cook any tea, you can't watch telly and you can't go on the internet

some people seem to think "technology" is just computers and new stuff... try and say how amazing and earthly we'd all be without electricity, transport, communication tools and mass-manufacturing.

that said, the world wouldn't end.

I don't think the world would end really. I mean if all the machines in the world just stopped working then there'd be problems, i.e like nuclear power plants going into meltdown because machines can't manage the reactor. But I don't think it would cause the actual apocalypse. We'd probably just get past the big problems and then go back to a slightly simpler existence. Life would go on.

Personally, I'd hate it. I use so many different bits of technology for entertainment all the time (phone, laptop, Kindle..). I'd have nothing to do.

Lol, do you not have family?

TBH, as much as I'd hate to lose my computer, iPod and TV just having a simple paper and pencil would be great.

A lot of people would die tbh.

Think about hospitals, about medication, about food supply, heating, communication in emergencies. It'd take years for us to adapt.
