View Full Version : phil schofields list of paedos?

the truth

was phil schofield right and brave to get a lot of names of accused celebrities and hand them over to the prime minister on live tv? is this a good way to get the pm moving faster against paedophiles?

or is it a dangerous juvenile stunt too far from philip schofield
handing cameron a list of celebrity names whose names have been bandied around the internet as possible paedophiles..is this the best way to catch them or is this a dangerous witch hunt?.
failing to cover the names so the camera could pick up those names was very careless?
was cameron right to suggest we avoid this witch hunt and encourage people to go to the police?

Hhhm, dangerous territory. What happens if that person isn't but their name has been included. That is their reputation tarnished for no reason.

Phillip Schofield is a twat that thinks he can do what he wants and that he'll never be punished for it, although David Cameron put his foot in his mouth with basically saying that all paedophiles are gay.

It was such a bizzarre thing to do.

The camera thing was ridiculous...

And the PM WAS right to say to go to the police instead of joining the witch hunt, however he hasnt seemed to care much about the media witch hunt until it involved a few of his mates :/

Poor old Phil, I think he thought he was Jeremy Paxman for the day... he really should leave the serious stuff to the professionals.

David would never have made that gaffe on Newsnight, he must have been focussed on Holly's boobs.

Mystic Mock

Not exactly like that but it's how it came across.

Marsh.
08-11-2012, 10:47 PM
No, Cameron was saying the opposite.

He was simply saying that if this kind of "witch hunt" escalates then people's possibly innocent names will be dragged through the mud for random reasons. The slightest thing that works against them will put them under scrutiny. Unfortunately, even today, that could include being gay.

Granted, the way he worded it was odd but I kind of got his point.

King Gizzard
08-11-2012, 10:51 PM
and how many on that list will simply be on there because people think they ''look dodgy''?

A completely foolish thing to do and he's quite lucky he's still in a job

Mystic Mock

Phillip Schofield should at least be sacked after this.

He may well get the chop if this story gathers momentum. Still he's got Mr and Mrs, the Cube and DOI to fall back on.

No he was a blinking idiot and trying to be clever,I usually have a lot of time for him,but this was immature and Yes anyone with any sensibility would agree with the PM,it's dangerous and stupid,at least he has apologised but really he had to.

Philip Schofield and Holly to a degree have become real gossipmongers as to the Saville issues and anything to do with abuse scandals.

He went on about getting that info of the people on the list within minutes then thrust them at the PM like a cat that had got the cream.
I think David Cameron dealt with it really well, I would guess that likely the names contained were of people who were possibly gay which is also likely why David Cameron said he wanted no sort of witchunt related to gay people.

Philip has got way too big for his boots on This Morning, I rarely watch it when he and Holly are on if I am able to watch it.
A housemate recorded it for me today because I wanted to see what David Cameron said generally but I think this was unprofessional, childish, inappropriate and totally wrong presenting from Schofield.

I was then stunned further when he said to the PM as to the names on the list, would he, the PM, be speaking to any of them.
What a pathetic performance and also in my view a dangerous one.
He won't be there tomorrow as he and Holly are off on fridays usually, if I had my way, he'd be suspended.

I abhor all the revelations as to Jimmy Saville but I have got really sick of Schofields near obsession with the topic and he and Holly turning 'This Morning' into a gossip shop about it day after day.

the entire Savile case has been subject to the same word-of-mouth tattle and hysterical media gossip-mongering as a celebrity divorce. It's shameful. It's no surprise that the two most-posted threads of Omah's are the Savile one and the Katie Price one. To some, Savile is just another morbid conversation. This should be more than that.

That's what we need, a lightweight gossip-monger masquerading as a TV presenter setting themselves up as the morality police for the nation. Stick to talking about HRT, makeup and Marks and Spencer's cardigans to the nation's housewives, Phil, it's much more your style. I always thought the Gopher was the real star.

Should you really be using this thread as a platform to have a pop at other members shaun?
Omah posts snippets of relevant information on a subject that is very emotive for forum discussion. I thought that was the point of serious debates?
Getting back to the topic, I was shocked Phil was so outspoken in front of the PM... he will get his knuckles rapped no doubt!

harriet harman is also part of the problem....shes created this hysterical witchhunt environment, which will end up damaging everything, the falsely accused will be destroyed and the media will destroy any chances of actually nailing theguilty parties....harriet harman is too much of an idiot to have these this problem coming

I have no sympathy for Phillip Schofield whatsoever. He's another one who doesn't really give a toss about what comes out of his gob and what the consequences may be after he's done it. Of course if it meant that his job, career and reputation may be on the line then you can bet your bottom dollar he would keep tight-lipped.

I like Jeremy Paxman though, great guy :)

We do seem to be changing... I know showing the PM a list of names from the internet dosen't prove it, but the public and the media are showing that they are more focussed on seeing justice done.
You will always have the hysterics from the tabloids as you do for every issue, but if you look beyond that it highlights that society cares for the next generation and wants to ensure the laws of the land are there to protect the victim not the perpetrator.

I really dont think anything is changing, its just appearing to be changing , as always through the prism of the hysterical embarassing british media

this is typically british....bury it for 100 years then go totally over the top for 1 year just to pay lip service to the masses....we will see more witch hunts for a few years, when loads of falsely accused will take legal action and win millions...that will then make the issue go full circle and people will be wary of blurting names and it will all go back to relying on the police again

multiple investigations for abuse form 40 years isnt going to do a damn bit if good
meanwhile we pay little attention to the daily abuse that happens in loads of care homes and nursing homes and in our hospitals
also for some reason sexual abuse is seen as the worst crime of all, but what about patients dying of thirst in hospital wards, in homes, mistreated, misdiagnosed, what about DNR's (do not resuscitate orders) given on patients telling staff to allow a patient to die without even informing him or his family first?
what about the 25000 who died in british hospitals from blood clots picked up whilst in hospitals, yet untreated and undetected? what about the fact its nigh on impossible to get some scans in hospitals until its too late?

we should be more concerned with the immediate problems than just the perverted ways of 40 years ago...lets get some balance, some perspective, lets get justice that can actually help people today and in the future

the ONLY real thing that needs massive change is the police and the nhs. the police have failed the entire country for decades and no one has done a darned thing about it
