Yesterday people were speculating about Lord McAlpine being a paedophile, and muttering about if it's not him then it's probably one of his relatives. The gears were in motion for another evidence-free witch-hunt. Today the outrage has switched to the BBC for misleading everyone. People allow themselves to be misled.

In a way
the Next BBC Boss
needs to be more a ground level a bit more.
George is unlucky
he is a good man who has worked at the BBC for years
but he took the job just as Newsnight fecked up first.

The BBC is a massive organisation, as you know, and it's hard to imagine anyone will have a handle on everything that's going on. He's the sacrificial lamb for this one because the buck stops with him. But I guess that's why he was paid the money and got the best parking space.

Lock the thread?
So you don't want a debate just random tabloid soundbites...
did someone say witch-hunt?
Seen those words so often they have lost all relevance, a bit like some opinions.
I await the outcome of the new inquiry, if the name McAlpine bears no relevance then he will be vindicated.
Quite rightly obviously....

Ahh I see :)..... I knew he was a fall guy, I read Micheal Jackson was poised to take the role prior to George Entwistle.
