Cult classics would probably be more suited to me, I loved the likes of On the Road, The Catcher in the Rye, Catch-22, Brave New World etc.

I just don't have anything else to thumb through atm besides uni work, and those are mostly of the poetry/Shakespearean variety which, whilst important, aren't terribly interesting.

I haven't really read many cult classics myself, but I thought these books were pretty damn good:
-His Dark Materials - It's a series of three books. They're all excellent. If you haven't already read them and enjoy fantasy (with a sort of sci-fi twist) then you should definitely consider it.
-Uglies - It's a series of books set in a world where everyone is given an operation at 16 to make them 'pretty'. It's a good read.
-Delirium - I've only started reading this but I really like it already. It's about a world where love is treated as a disease.

How much of Frankenstein can you want to no more about?

You know the scientist brings him to life. Its pointless reading a book you already know the outcome of

You really should Shaun. The Gunslinger is a bit slow but it builds up for the rest of the series.

Both very good. Also, if you're a Salinger fan, try out Franny and Zooey, if you haven't already. It's better than Catcher in the Rye, IMHO, and may be my fav of all time, not a "top 10 or top 50." I don't know you as a close friend, but what I *do* know of you says this would be a book you would very much enjoy.

Yeah! I loved them! I read them when I was younger, but I've re-read them in the past few months. A lot of it was difficult to grasp when I first read them. But now I'm older I understood, and enjoyed them even more the second time around.

The only thing that's weird about them is the language of the books. It's set in an alternate universe so a lot of everyday things have alternate or archaic names (like 'anbaric' for electricity).

They're definitely worth a read. They're fantastically written and the plot is gripping too.
