Janette
17-10-2002, 08:17 PM
Ok, now Fame academy is here and proving quite popular, I thought I'd start a quiz on it.

Question 1. Marli sang "Torn" on live TV but who had a big hit with that song not long ago?

WILDCHILD
17-10-2002, 11:38 PM
The answer to that is Natalie Imbruglia.:spin2:

Janette
17-10-2002, 11:42 PM
Well done Wildchild :hello:

Your turn

WILDCHILD
17-10-2002, 11:50 PM
Cool. Heres my question, Im sure you'll all get it!

Carrie Grant, the singing coach has worked on another reality tv show.
Name the show?:spin2:

Mairi
18-10-2002, 12:09 AM
Pop Idol. I remember her in the chorus when Will was singing Evergreen.

You couldn't miss her bright red hair!!

:colour:

Janette
18-10-2002, 12:14 AM
In Wildchild's absence, I'll tell you you're quite right! :hello:

Over to you Miriam for the next question

Mairi
18-10-2002, 12:28 AM
OK. My question is about the new boy, David.

Who does he think the hottest girl in the academy is?

susieq
18-10-2002, 12:43 AM
Is it Camilla? She's a very pretty girl with a fantastic voice. I think David had better watch out. I have a feeling he might not be the only one that has taken a shine to Camilla.

Mairi
18-10-2002, 12:46 AM
It was Camilla, Susieq. Well done.

It was Marli he kissed last night, though, during the game of Truth or Dare!!

Anyway, it's over to you for the next question.

:dazzler:

susieq
18-10-2002, 12:50 AM
I saw Truth or Dare - it was getting a wee bit raunchy that's for sure!! Anyway pop pickers (God that ages me!), my question is:-

Which couple will be singing a Steve Harley song on Friday's show and what's the title of the song?

splodge0
18-10-2002, 11:10 PM
Nigel and Camilla??????:colour:

SORRY!!! ...With "Ain't No Stopping Us Now"??????:colour:

susieq
18-10-2002, 11:48 PM
Sorry Splodge - as Roy Walker of 'Catchphrase' fame would say "It's a good answer - but it's not right"!!!

Anyone else having a go? Did no-one watch tonight's show? Shame on you!!

Janette
19-10-2002, 01:26 AM
It was Marli and Ainslie, singing "Come Up And See Me"

It was the sexiest, funniest and BEST performance of the series so far

susieq
19-10-2002, 01:34 AM
Correct Janette. They did a fantastic version.

Over to you for the next question.

Janette
19-10-2002, 01:43 AM
I think I'm falling for Ainslie, what a cutie!!!!!

Ok, here goes!

What is Katie's favourite song?

Mairi
19-10-2002, 11:50 PM
Katie's favourite song is "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" by Eva Cassidy.

I prefer it by Judy Garland, myself, as The Wizard of Oz is one of my favourite films.

:colour:

Janette
19-10-2002, 11:59 PM
You're absolutely correct, Katie's favourite song is "Somewhere over the rainbow" by Eva Cassidy

I thought her version of it was beautiful, but Judy's was still the best!

Your question, Miriam

Mairi
20-10-2002, 12:03 AM
My question is about the lovely Sinead.

Continuing with the "favourite" theme, who is Sinead's favourite singer?

:dazzler:

Janette
20-10-2002, 12:21 AM
Pure guess, but I would have to go for someone like Bono

I'm probably wrong though!

Mairi
20-10-2002, 12:32 AM
Sorry, Janette, not Bono or even anyone like him!!

It is a male singer though and, I must admit, I was surprised by her choice.

:colour:

susieq
22-10-2002, 12:31 AM
Well, if you say you were surprised Miriam I suppose it must be someone from the 'old school', as Sinead is such a youngster.

I would therefore have to go with the greatest song stylist that's ever drawn breath - 'Old Blue Eyes' himself - Frank Sinatra.

Mairi
22-10-2002, 12:36 AM
You're right, Sue. It is Frank Sinatra. Sinead has excellent taste as well as a fantastic voice.

Your turn for a question now.

:dazzler:

susieq
22-10-2002, 12:54 AM
Right - my question concerns the lovely Ainslie - who's very sweet but that's 'by the by'!!

Who inspired Ainslie to take up singing?

Janette
24-10-2002, 11:59 PM
One of the greatest musicians of all time,

Mr Eric Clapton:hello:

And I'm sure Ainslie's not the only person Mr clapton has inspired!

susieq
25-10-2002, 12:12 AM
Absolutely correct Janette. EC is a very fine musician and singer and I've been a massive fan of his for over 30 years (from when I was a babe in arms obviously!!).

Over to you for the next question.

Janette
25-10-2002, 08:23 PM
ok, here's a tricky one!

Presenter Patrick Kielty had a series on Channel 4 a couple of years ago, what was it called?

(HINT: who wants to be a millionaire?)

susieq
26-10-2002, 12:26 AM
I believe it was a programme called 'Last Chance Lottery'??

I must admit, I much prefer Patrick on his chat show, I think he's really witty and has had some great guests (excepting Holly Valance obviously).

Janette
26-10-2002, 12:28 AM
Well done Susieq, it was Last Chance Lottery, and a damned funny programme it was too!

Over to you

Janette
06-01-2003, 06:58 PM
Having trouble thinking of a question Susieq?

susieq
06-01-2003, 08:50 PM
Sorry about this - I'd completely forgotten about the quiz, with the site being down for a while. Anyway, I'm sure Fame Academy still holds fond memories for a lot of people so I hope you can get your thinking caps on.

All the students had different ambitions, some music related and some not. Who's non-music ambitions were to play tennis at Wimbledon and play football for Liverpool? (This is one person by the way!).

Janette
06-01-2003, 09:26 PM
I'll take a guess and say David, because he loved football and was totally thrilled when he got to see the live game when he was Class A

Amy
07-01-2003, 11:09 AM
Was it Ashley :conf:

susieq
07-01-2003, 10:03 PM
Well done Amy - you're quite right it was indeed Ashley. Your turn for a question now.

Amy
08-01-2003, 05:35 PM
great  Ok next question.......
Which Male member of Fame Academy was obsessed with Jackie Chan?

finch
08-01-2003, 08:48 PM

10-01-2003, 03:33 PM

Amy
10-01-2003, 09:20 PM

Well done, Peachy

peachy
11-01-2003, 12:58 PM
Suppose it's my turn to set a question

How much money did the students get to spend each week they were in the academy and who spent some of his on Magic tricks?

Mairi
11-01-2003, 01:30 PM
I know who spent their money on magic tricks and had a great time trying them out!! I also know who spent his on a plant, bhlcs.

What I CAN'T remember is how much they had to spend each week so I'll have a guess at £10. Anywhere near, Peachy?

:spin2:

peachy
12-01-2003, 07:54 AM
Good guess, Miriam but not quite right. Anyone else gonna have a go?

bbceleb1
12-01-2003, 02:04 PM
UMm im gonna guess at 15 pound a week

peachy
13-01-2003, 08:14 AM
Well done bbceleb it was £15. Now who spent some of their allowance on magic tricks?

Mairi
13-01-2003, 10:48 AM
It was the lovely David of whose CD single I am now the proud owner.

Ran down to Tesco's to buy it in my lunch break and it's the No. 1 bestseller.

Hurray!! :hello::hello::hello::hello::hello:

peachy
13-01-2003, 11:00 AM
Well done Miriam

Miriam and bbceleb, As you both got half the question correct I don't know which one of you is going to post the next question! Unless we get two questions to answer. Up to you to decide.

:conf:

Mairi
13-01-2003, 08:43 PM
I'm happy to let you ask the question, Adam, as I think you got the harder part of the question right.

:wavey:

Kaz
16-01-2003, 12:17 PM

peachy
12-02-2003, 12:25 PM
Boris, give me a chance I posted my answer up first thing this morning, have been into work and have just got in. Be patient woman!!! Here is my question:

When Jeremy had to confess to the students about snogging Marli, Katie came out with a classic Katie funny remark. What did she ask Jeremy?

Boris
12-02-2003, 06:26 PM
I can remember how she responded but not what she said. It is MOST frustrating.I can even see the 'body' language.:spin2:

Boris
12-02-2003, 06:43 PM
Would it be that Katy asked

"Do you think Kevin would snog me ? "

Have I got it right ???

Boris
12-02-2003, 06:47 PM
Who provided their own 'free' therapy

and who described it as such ????

A 'double' Whammy !!!

peachy
12-02-2003, 06:48 PM
Yes, well done, Boris, old bean. It was very funny. I laughed out loud. She said it with such a wide eyed expression, didn't she? :joker:

peachy
12-02-2003, 06:52 PM
I see you posted the next question before I'd told you that you were correct, such confidence, Boris!!

Sorry if i upset the protocol !

Boris
13-02-2003, 09:10 AM
Who provided their own 'free' therapy

A 'double' Whammy !!!

( Peachy told me to repost my question as it had got lost in my misdemeanours ! )

Boris
14-02-2003, 08:32 AM
No takers so far so............

A little 'clue' !

The result of some 'free therapy' is on the FA CD !

Come on now

:hello::hello::dance::hello::dance::hello:

peachy
14-02-2003, 08:54 AM
I have an idea that Pam said that songwriting was 'free therapy' so presumably Keep Me a Secret and Lullaby were the results. As they are the two original songs which are on the CD. :xyxwave:

Boris
14-02-2003, 09:19 AM
Well Done Peachy !

Pam did indeed say that 'song writing' was good 'therapy' and the best thing about it, was it was 'free'.

The students provided 'their own' in the songs that they wrote.

peachy
14-02-2003, 10:09 AM
Who were the two songwriters who came into the academy to work with Sinead?

Boris
14-02-2003, 08:41 PM
Can't remember peachy - hope someone else can !:conf::conf::conf:

peachy
20-02-2003, 04:42 PM
Thought I better give a clue to all you who found this question too hard.

This songwriting duo worked with Darius on his album and co-wrote Colourblind amongst other songs. :xyxwave:

Boris
22-02-2003, 03:39 PM
Come on LEE. you are a Darius fan aren't you ????

Someone must know the answer....................then we can get this ball rolling again:xyxwave:

LEE
22-02-2003, 06:07 PM
I hadn't noticed this Boris. I do know the answer, it's Pete Glennister and Deni Lew.

peachy
22-02-2003, 07:15 PM
Phew, thank goodness for that, I thought no one was ever going to get it but I might have guessed that the mighty Lee wouldn't let me down.

Well done, Lee and your prize is:

you get to set the next question:joker:

LEE
22-02-2003, 07:31 PM
Damn, that was why I hadn't answered it before cos I'm hopeless at setting FA questions :conf:

I'll go away and have a think

LEE
23-02-2003, 09:33 AM
OK, here's my question.

Ashley was the first person voted out of the Fame Academy, but what was the song he sung for survival?

Amy
23-02-2003, 11:24 AM
Was it "I can see Clearly now" :conf: :conf:

LEE

WILDCHILD
21-04-2003, 11:10 PM
I never really realised how much this board loved Fame Academy - I knew people were interested in it but never to this extent. I cant see the fascination myself but then people say the same with me and Big Brother. I hope to think you all like Big Brother better than Fame Academy - do you??:conf::spin2::conf:

Ooops, sorry for disrupting the quiz!

Mairi
21-04-2003, 11:18 PM
Hello Wildchild. Well, I certainly liked BB2 better than ANYTHING. But Fame Academy was wonderful and more than made up for BB3 this year which, IMHO, was pretty dire.

Thank you Amy. My question is about the audition videos shown on the TV at the beginning of Fame Academy. Which musical instrument did Ashley play?

Mairi
13-05-2003, 07:45 PM
That was the singer and song that reduced ME to tears, Peachy.

I'm going to go for Ainslie and "Daddy's Love".

:wavey:

Boris
13-05-2003, 08:21 PM
Sorry Mairi, Vincent it was .

Well done Peachy.

Over to you .:wavey:

peachy
13-05-2003, 08:32 PM
I agree that Ainslie and Daddy's Love was gorgeous though, Mairi.

This quiz is getting harder and harder, especially as I've posted so many questions and answers on it. :joker:

Ok then, we'll have a Malachi question this time. What was the song he sang on his last showdown when he very narrowly missed getting the public vote from Sinead and had to leave the academy?

helxx
13-05-2003, 09:23 PM
I know! I know!

"Something" - was the last song Malachi sang - so beautifully I must add!

Oh no, that means I have to set the next question does it? Does it mean I have to read the last 8 pages so as to avoid a repeat question? Oh bugger!
Back in a sec! :conf:

helxx
13-05-2003, 09:37 PM
Oh just read the rules. So as not to appear too confident  I need to wait for peachy to confirm whether or not I'm right! Should give me some thinking time! Someone help!!!!

peachy
13-05-2003, 09:41 PM
Not much thinking time allowed I'm afraid, Helxx, you are of course absolutely right.

Much too easy for a specialist like you!

helxx
13-05-2003, 09:47 PM
Hmmmmm my minds gone blank!

Okay, keeping on the Mal theme,

What was Malachi eating, when describing about the 'snog' to Lemar?
(He was lying on the bed)

Feel free to ignore this one Peachy as I know you'll know it!!

helxx
14-05-2003, 08:15 PM
I've got you all beat eh?

peachy
14-05-2003, 08:42 PM
well, you've got me beat, Helxx. I didn't see this. I did miss a few minutes of FA in the whole ten weeks and this must have been it.

I'll guess he was eating a mint, he did like his mints

helxx
14-05-2003, 08:51 PM
Really good effort peachy, but sorry mints is not correct.

(Re the mints, I think he sucked them all the time so that he didn't breathe fag breath all over Sinead!)

I somehow don't see the Irishman as a fruit eater. I'm going to go with a bar of chocolate.

helxx
16-05-2003, 02:04 PM
You're right Peachy, it's not fruit, nor chocolate sorry!

peachy
16-05-2003, 06:33 PM

Kaz

Seeing as Fame Academy 2 is on our screens now, and it's been a bit of a lean period for BB news, I thought I'd resurrect this thread to keep us amused. :spin:

However, it seems as though Boris is still trying to decide whether Pam was from Australia or New Zealand!!! Made your mind up yet, Boris?

If someone else knows for definite, could you please let us know?

In the meantime, what about a question from Fame Academy 2 to start the ball rolling again.
